How are you watching on ipad? Ipad doesn't have adobe flash 11
Direct TV Sunday Ticket app. Log in, and connect the iPad via the HDMI adapter. (you can stream it via AppleTV, too, but I don't have that) So you can't do it without the App or the adapter/AppleTV.

God, I'm slow on this tech stuff. Thanks!

Anyone getting network errors on the ps3? It downloaded the software update but won't initialize. Do I need to delete last year's app?

Quality has been awesome. No choppiness. Near-HD all the time.

Stream seems to be almost a minute behind cable feed.

Another option is NFL Game Rewind, a day after online streaming service. There are restrictions, like not being able to start watching any video when a game is on live, but it's an inexpensive option ($35-$70 depending on the level you choose) for people who want watch and it has a couple of nice features like coach's video for some plays, watch multiple games at once and the ability to watch any game played this season. It's more of a suppliment than a solution, but I found it useful when watching games were not always an option like when my kids had soccer games or my wife dragged me to the in-laws.
For anyone else interested in getting NFL Game Rewind, you can save $10 by first purchasing the $39.99 NFL Rewind package, then they give you the option to upgrade to the premium package for $19.99. Beats paying $69.99 for the premium package initially. I've only been able to see the Giants-Cowboys game so far, but the quality is really good and it also lets you block the scores so they aren't spoiled. I still need some more time with it, but I'm very happy with my $59.98 payment so far.

Again, much, much better than last year. This is the product they should have been putting out there in the first place.

Excited about the rest of the season even though Miami looked awful.

Everyone here seemed happy with this but it was certainly a mixed bag for me. The Patriots game came in clear and had no freezes or buffering. Now I'm watching the Packers-49ers game and it is a complete 180. Constant freezing, skipping, choppy feed and has been absolutely abysmal. I'm not really sure how to judge it right now but if anyone else is watching the late games is the quality good for you?

Watching GB on cable, watching Arizona/Seattle on my side TV. Picture quality has been stellar, not a problem for the entire game. Maybe a lot of people are streaming the GB/SF game?

Could be but I think around 80-90% of the country got the GB/SF game on cable which is why it made no sense to me. I know that it isn't my internet connection either which is cox ultimate (PS3 is wired) which I routinely get 100 mbps or higher. Very strange but I guess we'll see what happens next week.

My feed looked great on my 46" Samsung LCD but went to hell when i went full screen. I expected the PQ to suffer a little but it also got juggy. I was outputting at the Samsungs native resolution from my HP desktop via hdmi. I tried messing about with the nvidia control panel but couldnt seem to optimize. I think part of the problem is it would only output 60ghz refresh rate.

Messed around some more during 4pm games and tried running it off my moto Xoom tablet via the app and hdmi mirror mode. That actually looked considerably better. Conversely it looked horrendous on the Droid Razr.

I suppose I could just use the xoom on game day but then there goes my second screen.

Anyway, better than sitting with the degenerate NY fans in the neighborhood dive bar.

Question - will the Thursday night NFL Network games be available via the Sunday Ticket app? I'm a FIOS guy that doesn't get NFL Network with my current programming package.

my friend who was skeptical about this whole thing is thrilled with it today. He's also a Redskins fan and is generally thrilled with life after RG3's game yesterday.

IIRC they aren't on there.
Yeah, the Sunday Ticket doesn't offer the NFL Network games. It's so horrendous Time Warner Cable still doesn't even OFFER the option of getting the NFL Network. It's been 5 years now.

Edit -

I have to say, I wouldn't have expected it to be as good as it was in a million years. It surpassed my expectations. The picture on my TV from my iPad was perfect. Changing between games was seamless and it only took like 5-7 seconds for the picture to fully load as a HD picture. It's going to make NFL Sunday's a lot more fun.

Yeah I was really happy with it. I'd say it's 15-30 seconds behind live, so tracking fantasy while watching isn't great (usually I would see a big play from one of my guys on the fantasy tracker, then switch to the game just in time to see the play happen). Still, way better than nothing.

Yep, I had two televisions, side-by-side. One with Red Zone from Comcast; the other with the games via PS3 and I'd almost always see a play on Red Zone before seeing it on PS3. Oh well, I can live with that. I gave my friends the heads up to wait about 30 seconds before texting me about any game action during the Pats game. Wasn't too big of an issue.

I wish the PS3 app could be set up to run the "Game Mix" feature similar to the online version. Perhaps I'll run the HDMI from laptop-to-TV for this Sunday's games for that feature. Although, the quality suffers a bit when I do that.

Wasn't sure where to post this but got an email from the Patriots. Since the Pats have put in full wifi at Gillette this year, they're also allowing anyone in stadium to get the red zone channel, for free, via the NE patriots iTunes app:
http://feedc.patriots.com/release3/nfl.content/red_zone_update?profile=iphone&res=1024x768&density=1

I'm not going this week, but I'd love to hear if it actually works. Solves the problem of walking in for the 4:25 start and missing the end of all the 1pm games while you're sitting there subjected to Dunkin Donuts ads prior to kickoff.

Is there any app that allows Red Zone via Comcast? I'd love to have the Pats game on the TV and my iPad sitting on the coffee table with RedZone.

well, as a long time directv subscriber i tried the technique mentioned above of calling the retention line to complain about the deals not being offered to me. no real luck, just a spiel about how prices have never been lower and an offer of 3 months free HBO.

i said no....but maybe will give that one more shot. I do want to see Sunday's Pats game, as it's not being carried here.

I had nearly constant audio stutter on Sunday, but only on the Red Zone Channel. This was during the 4:00 games, watching on an Ipad. Single game feeds seemed fine. In general, though, pretty impressive.

Mouseover the video. It's on the right.

The PS3 option has the audio/video sync off by about half a second -- it's noticeably annoying. Anyone else experiencing this?
I'm using it from a PC to my TV but I would try restarting the PS3, that should fix it up. I am trying to do the 4 screen option and it's sputtering. And the video quality from my Ipad(which I just stopped using) was utterly horrendous. I wonder if the network is overloaded today?

Anyone seeing some jerky-ness with the video today? It looks like I get to top quality and everything is fine but every 8 seconds or so it jumps for a millisecond or two. It's pretty annoying...

I'm getting a buffer every five fucking seconds.
Interesting. My stream wasn't so great during Week 2, but today is the best it's been. Hopefully it improves for you guys.

Great discussion guys, glad I found this thread. Also really getting close to pulling the trigger on the NFL ST for the PS3. Sounds like you all have good things to say about it (for the most part). For those that have this and don't have cable, has anyone found a way to watch MNF (w/o going to the bar or any other place)? I see XBOX live offers packages with ESPN. Too bad PS3 doesn't have that as well since they get Big Ten games too.

Does anyone know if you can do Sunday Ticket on-line only on a week to week basis? I'm in the Bay Area this week and they're showing the Niners vs Bills instead here. Thanks.

Weeks like this are why I'm glad I opted to get this again this year. I would have to watch the underwhelming Pats Rams matchup instead of the huge Fins Jets matchup.

It would be nice if I could go 10 seconds without the picture freezing and losing quality.

The worst part for me is that, when it does freeze, it doesn't catch back up. So I get gradually further behind as the game goes on.
