This Brandin guy can cook. Catch after catch. Why can’t the Pats get a receiver like that?

Wonder what the Jets are thinking with Sam Darnold on the precipice of 3-0

That’s a dumb call. FG salts this game and they choose to try to get the QB concussed.

Didn't hit him in the head, but hit under the shoulder certainly jostled him but good.
He got his facemask, which is why the helmet almost came off.

On top of that, he drove him into the ground, with all of his weight. That's a textbook roughing call in today's game.

yeah they just showed a replay, that not being roughing given what they call every week is insane.

I’ve seen all 3 Carolina games now. I don’t like the matchup for the Pats offense vs the Carolina defense. Given the Panthers have some OL issues it’s a decent matchup for the Pats but the Panthers receiver depth and quality will challenge the Pats depth at corner. Overall not a great matchup for the Pats.

Horn probably out week 9, maybe the season. "Broke some bones" is not a good sign, might be mid foot/Lisfranc situation. Often a bunch of small fractures with that injury.

CMC good chance to be back by then given how he was moving after the injury.

Appreciate the info there. IRT to the matchup sure it matters some but it doesn’t impact my assessment. I don’t think their RB or CB2 outside is going to make that much of a difference. Not enough to sway the gist of the matchup anyway. CMC not playing would be ideal as, unless they play Phillips or Dugger in at ILB, High or Bentley is going to have to matchup with him when he runs routes out of the backfield. Brady uses him like that too where he will quickly go from next to the QB to running a true WR route. I think it would be an issue all day for them. Given that the Pats WRs are, so far, nothing special the downgrade from Horn to whoever doesn’t bother me much. I look forward to seeing them against a real offense next week because Mills’s Texans, Wilson’s Jets, and Winston’s Saints are probably all or 2/3 bottom tier offensive teams.

@radsoxfan for Horn (and I know you’re speculating without knowing the injury) what do you think the chance is that he can return at all? If it isn’t a Lisfranc that increases the odds of return?

If it's a Lisfranc injury with a few broken bones at that location in the mid foot, I would expect he is done for the year. So yes, non-Lisfranc definitely increases his chances to return.

I might be reading too much into the plural of "he broke some bones" quote from Rhule. But in a non-contact broken foot, it's not too common to break multiple bones (Lisfranc being the exception).

5th metatarsal is another common bone to break on a play like that, but that's usually in isolation. I would expect 6-8 week minimum best case scenario if he broke something in his foot and it's not a Lisfranc, like they're predicting for DeMarcus Lawrence.

Probably a trip to see Robert Anderson, the James Andrews type guru for foot and ankle. Used to be the Panthers team doc, but now is in Wisconsin I think.

The Steelers are awful. They need a complete overhaul. Back to the dark days of the 1980s with the defense keeping a team with an inept offense somewhat afloat. That’s not a good situation.

Nope. Defense is also fraudulent. Just please go 2-14 and get some high end picks this time.

Dropsawood Brown for Baltimore is having one of the worst halves in the history of the NFL.

He's dropped 3 TD passes. One a little difficult. The other two, just right in his hands and would have been TDs and he just dropped them.

Do the Chiefs just like spotting opposing teams a couple TDs every single game for fun?
