They have to know Jones is not the answer. That's been clear for a while, even though he can string together some good performances. The question is really whether they give Daboll/Schoen a chance to reboot with a new QB or clean house. I think the Maras want to be conservative and have continuity and will keep them if they can. QB vortex is exhausting for so many teams.
In fairness to Jones, in two of their losses he's had potential game changing drives end with a receiver dropping a fourth down pass in their hands. I think the two missed calls by the refs in the first half loomed large--the screwing up the facemask call on Bellinger (I've never seen that before--I've seen the refs miss it when both players grabbed each other's mask but they only called one of them, but never calling the foul on the player who got his mask pulled), and picking up the flags on the two obvious holding calls on the first Cowboys TD.
But some blame has to go on Daboll for not going for it on fourth and goal from the three down 14-9. It was like the Commanders game was in his head --"if we just string enough FGs together, we can steal this game." But you're not going to win a game against the Cowboys trading FGs, especially since they have a guy who can seemingly boot them from 70 yards away.
To me, the Giants look more like a team that could still win 8 or 9 games (assuming Nabers doesn't miss several games) and be just good enough to save both Daboll's and Schoen's jobs than the dumpster fire they were predicted to be. The only team that blew their doors off was the Vikings, who have now done the same to two teams with Super Bowl aspirations, so that loss doesn't look as bad as it did in Week 1.
