Got all preachy about a shoulder check to Mayfield when a flag was thrown, pretended to agree it it wasn't a penalty all along when the flag got picked up, and then went back to say the defender should have known better than to SHOULDER CHECK a QB that was still in bounds!!!

Did I say "2 separate ways"? He made an ass out of himself in 3 separate ways. I used to like him in NCAA pre-game stuff, but can't stand him as a color guy.

If that's not enough for you, he professed an especially profound love of salad forks.
dude is weird

This does remind me though, remember when if you bought a sports illustrated sub or something they would send you a videocassette that would be like coaching bloopers or something. My favorite one of those was the history of the Super Bowl and they went through them from the beginning up through the 80s. I don’t remember if it was NFL Films or some other outfit.

Herbie’s NFL work isn’t on par with his college work, but I thought his call on the Bama-UGA game last Saturday night was about as good as I’ve seen. Knowledgeable, insightful, enthusiastic. Totally not the milquetoast call we’re getting tonight.

He loves college football. He doesn’t even seem like he can tolerate the NFL.

Nice display of guts by the Falcons’ coaching staff. I would’ve kicked that.

I'll have to take your word for it. Apart from the Joe Burrow LSU era, I've watched less than 15 hours of college ball a year for a long time now. I just remember thinking Herbstreet was good on the pre-game with Lee Corso back in the day.

It’s the same idea. It isn’t that he is breaking down the game in some amazing way. He is just so excited about what he is watching and so smitten with the players, the coaches, the fans, a true sicko for the sport and his excitement makes the game feel even more exciting then it is.

Fumbles don’t get much worse than that. Good way to ensure you don’t take over the job from the mediocre starter.

great strip. Irving held on through the attempted poke out from the back the Bates punched perfectly from the front

Can you really punt when you just got a lucky fumble on a series where you had no answer for the run?
