Yeah, that a) assume Zane hits all three, which is probable but not guaranteed, and b) that they somehow end up with the same field position for the third field goal, since the Bucs were pinned deep thanks to the failed GFI attempt.

They gain 26 yards of field position from the second one. That's part of the reason why they went for it. And it panned it out with the turnover.

Wow what a gift. The only thing that's stopped the Bucs offense this half is their own mistakes. Washington suddenly in awesome shape, especially since they won't need to successfully operate in the red zone for a game winning field goal attempt.

I almost wonder if that was a trick play? Like the really, really stupid version of the Goff “trip”?

Because Baker had the ball and froze

I'm not saying it does. I never said it does. I was describing the hypotheticals parameters.
Sure, but it's part of the discussion started when a poster said kick the three field goals and Washington would be up by five.

After I started the argument, I recant my post. Quinn was right that his defense can't stop TB (unless they stop themselves), so going for it every time it was reasonable.

On the replay they were talking about how no one else was moving and to my eyes it looked like Baker wasn't expecting the ball. I think the center snapped the ball too soon.

I think that’s probably right but it looked like Baker had the ball and kind of sat there….although that could be just waiting for everyone else to move

Is there any point to not taking the timeout there? I can’t think of anything
