My fondest hope for this game is the Mets scoring enough more for Bartolo Colon to get an at bat in this game.

Citi field will go insane.

And as an added bonus if he got on first base he could do a belly flop going into second and pulverize every bone in Rollins' body.

Spent a week in Chicago this past summer and kept walking past that with no hesitation.  Don't quite get the fascination with deep dish!
Had it two weeks ago. It's pretty damn good. Though I don't love paying $25 for a 6" pizza.

Wonder why Robles wasn't the call to start this inning... if you're going to treat it seriously enough to bring Familia in now, not sure why you'd start messing around with Goeddel

yeah, the only type of pizza which, when properly made, one slice is a meal

Yeah, I can eat like a champ but that pizza on that day kicked my ass.

In their defense, they should have Ryu as a #3 and he's a really solid pitcher.
Also they lost Brandon McCarthy early on, he was great down the stretch last year.

We are potentially 24 hours away from a Cubs-Mets NLCS.

I'm very curious to see how Lackey and Kershaw will look on three days' rest.  I don't expect either of them to be dominant.

If the Cubs are to exorcise their demons, beating the Mets is mandatory

this game depends on Lackey. if he's strong on three days rest, you'd have to think it's on to game 5

I have faith in Lack, but runs will be scored today.  Hopefully, more for the Cards.

Fuck the Cubs.

How'd I do that time?
As was just stated on the broadcast, the Cubs have won exactly one post season series since 1908, the 2003 NLDS.

What a sad sack, clown show of a franchise.

But they're lovable. How does that fly in Chicago, vs. how it wouldn't in Bos, NY, Phi, etc? Midwest?

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com/AP) — A mother and her son are believed to have carried out an assault of a New York Mets fan outside Dodger Stadium following Game 1 of the National League Division Series, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck said Tuesday.
The fight broke out around 10:30 p.m. in Lot L of Dodger Stadium after the Dodgers lost 3-1 to the New York Mets in the opening game of the National League Division Series.
According to witnesses, a loud argument broke out among rival fans in the parking lot, and a Mets fan was punched and fell, striking his head on the ground and suffering a severe head injury.
The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.
“We believe it is a son and a mother who are responsible for this assault,” Beck said. “We believe that the weapons used was hands and feet.”

And that changed in a hurry.  It was just a matter of time before the ball started flying out again for the Cubs.
