Butler passed up an open layup to throw it to Bam..who was almost right next to him but further away…possession ends with a contested 3 from Strus that he missed.

couldn’t be Himmy Buckets passing the buck in that situation

Los Angeles by way of Roxbury
Yeah…it really pisses me off.

Heat are 4-17 from 3….and at least 5 of those have been wide ass open misses
I think Pat Riley sold his soul to satan for this run and the 3 point % that got them here.

Jokic seems clumsy and graceful at the same time, as if he were a calf of a species of gazelle-giant hybrids.
I've mentioned this before, but he looks like a dad playing basketball in the driveway with his kids. He's so good, and he makes all those Nuggets players so much better.

How much you wanna bet one of the talking points after Game 1 will be, "The Heat wasted a Bam game"? As if this isn't what the Nuggets schemed around?

Strus & Martin 0-15. I am perversely enjoying this through just the box score.
I turned the game on for 5 minutes; watched Caleb Martin get blocked for the second time by Michael Freaking Porter Jr. and that was enough for me.
cjm should ask malone for his scheme to make martin / strus 1/16 despite some great
Looks
Maybe the Cs should have left them unguarded?

I think Denver has another gear or two. As the series goes along they'll learn to get into their offense faster. Use Jokic even more.

Celtics have lost 4 ECFs since 2017 and so far the first 3 opponents all got smoked in the Finals; 4th incoming.

Really not loving our McNabb Eagles era.

We take it out of our opponents
Every time we end up saying the Celtics would have put up more of a fight against the WCF team but then that seems somewhat counterintuitive. Then again bball is all about matchups. Who knows.

In this case I’m at some degree of peace because they would have had zero chance with a hobbled Tatum anyway.

Denver hasn't relied on the 3 at all tonight. I'm getting more and more convinced 3-ball doesn't work in the playoffs long term unless you're a HOFer from out there, which the Warriors have (had) two of them in Curry & Thompson.

I think teams took the wrong conclusion from the Warriors dynasty. Well, the Celtics did anyways.

Vincent at least still looks like a player. Martin, Robinson and Strus have all (predictably) fallen flat on their faces tonight

I haven't watched much of this game. I saw that the Heat were in zone D a few possessions ago. Have they done a lot of that? It seems ill advised with Joker's bread and butter being playing point center at the top of the key.

Before Game 6, Zach Lowe had Adam Mares on his podcast. Mares is a Nuggets writer and he knows a ton about the team.

He said that the Celtics are among the worst matchups in the league for the Nuggets while the Heat are the best. He also said that everyone in the Nuggets organization was rooting heavily for the Heat to win (something Lowe confirmed)

Before that possession they only played Zone when Jokic sat

The only D being played in this game after the first 10 minutes is hoping the opponent misses.

I was excited to see what the Celtics could muster, for sure.
