The jersey’s in this Sabres/Penguins game are…uh…something.
I have a soft spot for the mad cow logo and like the gold and blue version way better than the navy and red, but the regular road whites the sabres wear are one of the best away jerseys in the league. So yeah, not great. At least it isn’t the buffaslug.

Power and Dahlin are going to be such a dominant force in the East over the next decade (assuming they both stay put of course and not Eichel-themselves out of there)

The off-season Stanley Cup champion Ottawa Senators dropped their 6th straight in regulation to fall to 4-8-0.

The Blues also lost their 8th straight in regulation.

The giveaway of Husso to the Deadwings for 3rd is looming large.

New Jersey beat Toronto 3-2 in Overtime last night. The Devils are right behind the Bruins at 14-3-0. The fans went from chanting "Fire Lindy!" during the first 2-3 games of the season to "Sorry Lindy" at their last home game. Pretty good story and the underlying numbers back up their start. It's not a fluke. Biggest question mark will be if the goaltending holds up.

In the West the Blues have had a strange season. Won their first 3, lost their next 8 in regulation, and are now on a 5 game winning streak. There was chatter last week of them being a big time mover and shaker trade wise with some of their pending UFA's but now their back on the cusp of a playoff spot.

Canucks are wearing their reverse retros tonight. Two thoughts:

-They’d be perfect for an outdoor game.
-The TD sponsor patch on one shoulder ruins them.

I’m getting some major “less than the sum” vibes from Florida. Yeah, they changed a ton from last season, but they’re 5th in the Atlantic, 9th in the conference. It doesn’t help that Bobrovskiy is god-awful right now. As we speak, he gave up 3 goals on the first 6 Flames shots in the first.

I think losing Weegar even with getting Ekblad back has really stung them. Montour is not gonna handle those minutes at the same level, bumps everyone else on their blue line up a notch too… just doesn’t seem like they have the offense to overcome that anymore.

They also lost Duclair to injury plus Marchment and Giroux to free agency and tried to replace them with guys like the corpse of Eric Staal, Colin White and Nick Cousins. Just can't go through that kind of attrition.

I also have no clue why teams hire Paul Maurice.
