Sabres coming out hot with a 7 year deal for Mattias Samuelsson at $4.5m AAV.

He split last season between Rochester and Buffalo and is a defensive defenseman.

Makes 6 / $4.1m for Carlo look a bit better albeit that was after his string of concussions. Strange move IMO to gamble on his continued progression given the lack of offensive upside, but if he sticks as a top pairing defense-first guy, could be good value?

The Sabres waived Anders Bjork today. He's in the final year of his deal, $1.6 million AAV. I doubt he gets claimed.

73 games, 8 goals and 6 assists with the Sabres. He was a healthy scratch for Buffalo's first two games this year.

So at this point all that is left from the Hall trade for them is Alexander Kisakov who they took with Boston's 2nd rounder. He's in the AHL this year after putting up 56 points in 51 games for the MHK Dynamo Moskva of the MHL last year. While Hall has 101 games, 29 goals, 47 assists for 76 points with the Bruins. Sufficed to say the Bruins won that trade barring him popping off.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Peter McNab. “Maxy” was a beloved member of the “Lunch Pail AC” & one of the most dynamic goal scorers in club history. We send our condolences to Peter’s family, friends, & the entire Avalanche organization.

That's too bad. McNab was a Bruin when I started watching the Bruins. I enjoyed watching him play.
