It's a shame we won't get to see anymore of the Jays lineup or the Fun Differential™ Mariners.

I fully expect the Dodgers to succumb to Cardinals Devil Magic.

VORPSpeed says that Cash's plan for the weekend was to give the starters 3 innings just to keep them fresh, then bullpen it the rest of the way
Playoff starters….so not Wacha. I was assuming Wacha wouldn’t even be on the playoff roster, but after the gem against the Yankees today and how he’s pitched against them all year, might want him available as a long man if Yanks end up in ALDS.

Spare a thought for Kyle Seager, who is arguably the best current MLBer without a postseason appearance on his resume (it's him or JT Realmuto, depending on how you want to define "best"). He's pretty likely to leave Seattle, too.

Orioles and D-Backs finish tied with the worst record in MLB. What’s the tie breaker for the #1 pick next year?
Worst record last year, they were tied, so worst record in 2019 and BAL gets it by like 35 games. AL East gets tougher and tougher…

Yeah, according to MLBN, Arizona's walk-off home run today cost them the #1 pick in next year's draft.

As stacked as the playoff bracket is, it's a bit of a bummer for MLB that two of the most entertaining and marketable teams with charismatic young stars - Toronto and SD - didn't make the cut. The Jays falling short obviously looks worse given how well they played at the end, but the Padres were a national phenomenon during the first half.
