Tyler Hill
3/4/96, Wilmington, DE.
6'0 195, B/T R/R.
19th round pick out of HS in 2014
After not playing much in his first 2 seasons, Tyler Hill posted a .332/.400/.487 line in 261 PA last year with a respectable 24bb/41k. He was also 11/22 stealing and had 23 xbh. He's limited to LF because of his poor reads and his weak arm and has average speed. He's pretty much an all bat, no glove prospect who will rise or fall depending on how he is hitting. He projects for below average power and his speed is average but once he's moving he is fast.
Tyler would start this season in Greenville and would struggle initially. In his first 121 PA, he was slashing .194/.308/.359 with 11bb/23, 10 xbh and 11/12 in SB. The following 3 games he went 9/13 with a .692/.692/1.000 slash. His line for the season is now .250/.336/.417 with 11bb/27k, 14 xbh, and 15/17 in sb.
While somewhat old for Greenville, the power continues to play above expectations and the improvement in stealing bases is a huge plus. His swing will be tested as he moves up and velocity increases but he's an exciting prospect to watch nonetheless.
