I like Beasley - He strikes me as a guy who hasn't ever lived up to his potential with Dan Quinn. Could be worth a look if Van Noy leaves.

Isn't it kind of weird for a team to tweet out that they won't be re-signing someone? This stuff usually leaks out into media reports anyways, but issuing an official team statement that is effectively saying, "Yeah, we're done with this guy," seems......odd.

A team already struggling to sell season tickets now sees the face of their franchise walk out the door. Unless Brady is on the way, things are going to be really rough.

If Rivers goes down to Tampa Bay that will be a very interesting team, with that offense and those receivers. Feels a little bit like Warner going to Arizona.

I don’t get the Rivers to TB fit. Rivers doesn’t have the arm anymore to push the ball downfield which is a key part of the Arians offense.

deep inside Guido territory
So that means either Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill are out of New Orleans. Tough decision for NO because Hill is not a true QB and don't believe the hype on him. Who did they turn to when Brees got hurt? Teddy B.

Or both. Bridgewater could get an offer for a starting gig. Hill could be talked into being the No. 2 guy with the Saints, I suppose.

Every league appears to be taking the "Why not make the whole plane out of playoffs?" approach. I don't love it.

Their current system is PERFECT. 16 games. 32 teams, 8 divisions. Schedules are super easy to understand and determine. 6 out of 16 teams in each conference seems like just the right amount - enough so that you've got a fighting chance (even if some years you're 8-8), but not so much that it diminishes the importance of the regular season. The 4 division winners in each conference get the byes. It's really ideal. So of COURSE they have to screw it up.

I think I like this one. Not only is it two extra playoff games, end of season games become more important and not as many players will be sat

WC week-end: 3 games on Saturday (1p,430p, 8p) and 3 on Sunday?

thats a lot of football to digest.

Could be some shrinkage in ratings
Sunday night playoff game is a killer, but I'm pretty sure the ratings will be stellar regardless. Doesn't seem to effect the regular season games, even when they are lame. And this is the playoffs. A Sunday night game will be a bonanza in the ratings.

I could see the early games getting cannibalized as most normal people make life choices (like interacting with spouses, kids,), running errands, feeling the sun, etc. before glueing themselves on the couch for the two later games.

his team (assuming Brady is back) is most likely to get the 2 seed? reason enough to me to push it off as much as you can.

Ain’t nobody sniffing the Pats’ bye streak record if this goes through (not that it was under realistic threat with two byes per conference).

Well, then every single team that doesn't think they are a lock for the #1 seed should vote against it? It would get like 0 votes...

If you think you are close to a lock for the first seed OR more likely to be the seventh seed than the second seed you should support it. I’m not sure into which category luckiestman thinks the Jets fall.
