So you’re saying there’s still a chance…So much for Baynes’ return to the NBA, at least for now…

Here's what my crystal ball says:And therein lies the issue.
Draymond thinks he's a max player.
Draymond is definitely not a max player going forward. Not even close.
Curry is a big believer in Draymond and keeping the "Big 3" together, so he may not be a huge fan of the Warriors threatening to let Draymond walk if Draymond keeps demanding a max deal.
Joe Lacob has gone from being wealthy to being obscenely wealthy thanks in large part to Steph, so him going to Steph and saying "we can't afford to keep Draymond" may be a tough sell.
There are going to have to be a lot of very sensitive conversations amongst the Warriors over the next few months to find a path that keeps almost everyone happy.
I can't wait for the league uproar when Draymond signs a team-friendly deal and his podcast suddenly gets a lot of new sponsors that happen to be companies Lacob invested in.
Except when Steph Curry says that The Big Three are a package deal. Then it becomes a lot less silly. It becomes the cost of doing business with Steph.GS has been an incredibly run franchise. and the owners have shown the willingness to spend. Locking up green at a Max seems like it would be a laughably silly decision
Well it's still silly. Question for Steph becomes do you want a 3-4 year retirement tour, or do you want to continue to complete for titles.Except when Steph Curry says that The Big Three are a package deal. Then it becomes a lot less silly. It becomes the cost of doing business with Steph.
Dray saying that he wants a max...that's kind of brand management. I'm a max guy, I want a max deal, I've earned it. Not sure why that's controversial. It may be incorrect or bad cap management, but I'm not sure what harm this peacocking of his is causing. I guess what I'm saying is that we don't really know what conversations are happening behind closed doors with the full braintrust (which includes Steph obviously). I think that it may not be time to panic yet, if you're a dubs fan.Well it's still silly. Question for Steph becomes do you want a 3-4 year retirement tour, or do you want to continue to complete for titles.
Dray on the roster at a cost of 200+ million as he declined as a player means doing something like trading Wiggins for picks.
GS is well positioned to be competitive for titles through the end of Steph's career, but not if it prioritizes 2017 over 2025
If Steph wants to keep the band together maybe he should have the talk with Dray and tell him no one is giving him 40 mil for his mid to late 30's
Ha, pretty much. I think that was kinda the deal with his last sub-max contract. And obviously, your market value tends not to increase as you head towards your mid 30s, with the specter of back problems.Dray: I'm a max guy I'm totally worth the max.
Crickets: Making cricket noises as crickets are wont to do.
Warriors: Here's $20m.
Dray: Taking a huge discount because I'm a team guy.
I am skeptical about this working out well for anyone involved.According to league sources, Williamson’s contract stipulates that he will have weigh-ins periodically throughout the entirety of his new deal. The sum of his weight and body fat percentage must be below 295. If it is not, the amount of guaranteed money in Williamson’s contract can be reduced.
This sounds about right. I can’t imagine Dray holding out for a max nor can I see the Warriors penny pinching to lose him. Green is going to get paid but no not the max.Dray: I'm a max guy I'm totally worth the max.

Being investigated for tampering with your own player and 50 year old PJ Tucker is so fucking funny.
34/64 in 9 games.
Former 1st round pick, he's 6'9 and played summer league with Utah.
He was MVP of the Brazilian league last season, averaging 23.9 points, 11.1 boards, and 3.6 blocks. It also says he hit 53.1% of his threes, but no idea on volume, but it can't be much.
He's six months away from being six months away.According to Google, 7'7" wingspan and 9'3" standing reach, so he plays a lot bigger than 6'9".
No idea if he's any good though.
If only he were German. He's six months away from being six months away.
From what I recall, great athlete and great worker but just has not been that good at the game of basketball.
He graded out as a negative on offense, but a positive on D the last few years he was in the NBA in DARKO and Raptor. Interestingly in the only year he got real burn (2018-19) Raptor had him around Harrison Barnes, Norm Powell, Wes Matthews and similar role playersCrazy how these bigs tear up any other league but can't sniff an NBA court.
Maybe he's much improved.
if it doesn't work out with Brooklyn we'll always have this:Fun article on Bruno that looks like it's from just before the 2015-16 season: https://www.sportsnet.ca/basketball/nba/bruno-caboclo-the-long-game/. Everyone will be glad to know that
The Raptors coaches talk about the moment the light went on for Caboclo. It was at a camp in Vegas attended by top players from the Summer League the week following the NBA’s annual off-season tournament. Caboclo was one of the best players in attendance and continued his strong performance in a series of pickup games in Los Angeles at the Clippers’ practice facility. Playing alongside the likes of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and Kevin Durant, Caboclo seemed in his element. He deflected passes, caught alley-oop lobs, nailed threes and pinned shots against the backboard. But for Engelbrecht, who was in attendance, the best part was seeing Caboclo interact with his fellow pros. “These guys know who he is! They’re like, ‘OK, the teams are me, Bruno, Blake, DeAndre,’” Engelbrecht says. “That’s his new normal. He’s not this mystery man anymore.”
Article also mentions that Caboclo was coached by Ime at what appears to be a Basketball Without Borders camp pre-draft where Caboclo was MVP and what (IIRC) led Toronto to pick him.
We must, as according to BRef, there have only been three Brunos ever to play in the NBA. Which brings two things to mind:We must lead the league in Bruno's the last twenty years, starting with the incomparable Bruno Sundov
Idk, but Semi Ojeleye and Semih Erden both played with the Celtics. We must, as according to BRef, there have only been three Brunos ever to play in the NBA. Which brings two things to mind:
(1) Is there any other name that has more than 2 players that is monopolized by one team like that?
(2) The only other team for which 2 Brunos has played is HOU.
Brunos are the new market inefficiency. We must lead the league in Bruno's the last twenty years, starting with the incomparable Bruno Sundov
How do you get such a natural look?Brunos are the new market inefficiency.
We don't talk about them.Brunos are the new market inefficiency.
Seems like a decent enough candidate to take a flyer on to fill out a roster.

I remember watching him at MSG at IU and he was so solid. Really thought he’d be something. In China last year Vonleh put up 14/9 on 38% 3s & his team went 18-5...& he's from Haverhill?
Don't really see him catching on but who knows. Former 9th pick, turns 27 later this month.
I remember when a couple of mocks had Vonleh getting picked by Boston at #6 in 2014.View: https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1554260644484075526
Add Noah Vonleh to the list of guys brought in to fight for the last couple roster spots
Gabbagool?Seems like a decent enough candidate to take a flyer on to fill out a roster.
When I first saw his name I misread it as Bruno Capocollo.
A 7'7 wingspan is pretty ridiculous.
TL is at 6'8 7'6 and 9'4. So really similar.
For comparison purposes, Vonleh measured at 6'9/7'4/8'10.According to Google, 7'7" wingspan and 9'3" standing reach, so he plays a lot bigger than 6'9".
No idea if he's any good though.
I know nothing about Chinese professional basketball but this feels.... not that great to me.In China last year Vonleh put up 14/9 on 38% 3s
NIce one! Funny enough but so did Jim SeminoffIdk, but Semi Ojeleye and Semih Erden both played with the Celtics.
Vonleh was a late-riser IIRC, largely on the back of untapped potential or some such. That draft was a bit of minefield, Ainge did really well with what many deemed a safe pick.I remember when a couple of mocks had Vonleh getting picked by Boston at #6 in 2014.
pretty good, it was actually 15/10 with rounding, and in only 23 MPG (because of the foreign player limits?) He was also near the top of the league in STL and BLK per 36. There were probably a few better players than him just based on scoring, and minutes but he's was a top player and well rounded.I know nothing about Chinese professional basketball but this feels.... not that great to me.
That seems like aggressive rounding (14.4/9.2)...pretty good, it was actually 15/10 with rounding, and in only 23 MPG (because of the foreign player limits?) But it doesn't much matter. Definitely worth a flyer & we'll see how it goes.
He did indeed. The only players drafted after Smart that are definitely better are LaVine and Jokic, who were taken 7 and 35 picks later. The only other guys in the conversation are Randle, Nurkic and Capela. Pretty solid.Vonleh was a late-riser IIRC, largely on the back of untapped potential or some such.
