According to the Athletic Simmons and the 76ers reached an agreement to settle his grievance.

Without knowing the number, a settlement does not really tell us much. But if the number or a general range does leak in the near future, my assumption would be that it's because it is not in Klutch's/Simmons interest for it to become public.

I'm a little surprised due to his interest in playing with his son, who appears to be draft eligible in 2024. Of course there's questions if the kid is an NBA talent, but a team would absolutely draft him if it meant LeBron as a package deal.
I can see LA using a late pick on Bronny to make Lebron happy. After all, he did choose to go to the Lakers in free agency and expedite their return from the doldrums. It would also generate some media attention.

I'm the opposite. I think it would be incredibly entertaining if he actually is legit and we see 2 generations of James' in the NBA.
I go back and forth on this. In my mind, the Griffeys playing together and hitting back to back home runs is one of the coolest things that has ever happened in sports, but I think it may feel different because Sr. was very good but Jr. was the blossoming all-time great.

The dynamic will be a lot different if Bronny turns out to be jag bound for Europe or the end of an NBA bench.

I feel guilty about how much I want to see Bronny fail. But the guilt isn't stopping me.
Unless the kid is a lot better than everyone says, LeBron is really not doing him any favors. For years there has been a presumption about him that I've never understood -- Jordan, Bird, Magic, Russell, Wilt, Dr. J -- I'm sure all of their kids were good in high school, but regression to the mean is a real thing. How many NBA HOFers had a kid who had even a cup of coffee in the NBA? Tim Hardaway, Gary Payton, and Bill Walton are all I can think of, and none of those kids were special by NBA standards.

Yeah, it all depends on how good Bronny is. If he's a JAG, then it's going to be messy. And if I'm a team that isn't the Lakers, I'm not dealing with all that just to have a 40 year-old LeBron play for me. But if he's good, then it'll be a marketing bonanza, if you're seeing LeBron throw alley oops to his son or vice versa.

I've seen several YouTube clips of Bronny and I still don't have a good sense of just how good he actually is. Seems to be pretty athletic but don't think he's a freak athletically by NBA standards (like his dad).

Being a well-educated art enthusiast with hundreds of millions of dollars and immediately available financial advisors who will protect you from doing anything stupid seems like a plan for a pretty good life.

He's ranked 39th in the class of 2023 per ESPN (49th on 247 Sports). I suspect he's getting a bit of a bump for being LeBron's son but either way, that's really, really, really good by any standard except the NBA. We'll see. Maybe he develops in college. But the number of kids in that or any other class who will have decent NBA careers is way less than 39.

He's anywhere from a top40 to top60 recruit in his class, depending on where you look. Pretty much everyone has him as a 4-star, basically a #2/#3 guy at a good program. Given his size, I'd say that it's unlikely that he's on any kind of all-star track. Wouldn't say that being LBJ's kid is the only path for him to make the league, but I'd bet that he wouldn't be on anyone's mock drafts today for his class if he weren't.

Rick Barry had 3 sons in the NBA. Ewing, George Karl, George Mikan, Dolph Schayes, John Stockton,

Dell Curry isn't in the HOF but he was pretty good. Mychal Thompson was pretty good.

But to answer your question, Arvydas Sabonis is a HOF. His son is pretty good.

One notable that comes to mind is Jeremi Grant - not only did his brother play for a bit in the NBA (4 years), so did his dad (7 years) and of course, his uncle is Horace Grant. Even if there aren't a ton of HOFers who had HOF caliber sons, there are a TON of NBA players who have family that played before.

Forgot about Barry and yes on Sabonis. My point stands though; being the son of NBA great is far from an automatic ticket to the league, and the expectations on Bronny are entirely unrealistic.

Well, yeah. Talent/size is genetic, after all. But there are a lot more mediocre/fringe NBA players than HOFers, so as a group they will end up producing more NBA players.

Jerami Grant is Harvey Grant's kid? I had no idea.

I also have no idea how good Bronny is, but I do know that if I ran a recruiting service or did anything else in the sphere of basketball, I would probably be hesitant to get on Lebron's bad side.

See I think it would be incredibly entertaining if the Lakers have to draft him because Lebron, and he sucks balls.

One thing is certain. Whatever his true ranking should be right now, he’s getting every possible advantage money can buy from here on out.

I wonder if Bronny got past the 5th page of the Hunger Games. Bron Sr was always on the first few pages.

No idea if Bronny can make it but currently GP II, Tim Hardaway Jr, Larry Nance Jr, Gary Trent Jr, Devin Booker, Austin Rivers, Andrew Wiggins are all sons in the league. Plenty of current examples of this and it will trend up.

Yes, we all understand there have been many father/son combos in the NBA. But most NBA players don’t have kids who make the league, and that applies to superstars too. The odds were always against Bronny and they still are.

Ja Morant's dad having the Billboard number 1 & 2 songs for 2004 is more impressive.

But actual serious question.... True or False: Mychal > Klay

I mean he is likely going to play in the NBA. That is pretty sick for any aspiring basketball player. Sure, he likely will flame out, but whatever at that point
The only way you could say he is likely to play in the NBA is if you are counting on massive nepotism. Which might be decent bet. But based on talent alone the odds appear to be against him.
