Brit commentators RAVING over Mayweather's ability to BOX.
True. He controls the ring. The fighters' bodies end up where Floyd wants them. He plays the angles beautifully. That's how he wins. He's a genius.

Too bad he's also an asshole.

Not being snarky, but have you watched Mayweather before?

This is how he fights. It's like Sweetpea Whitaker fought.

I haven't watched much of anyone, really.

I knew not to expect Rocky or Cinderella Man, but I feel cheated, and I didn't even pay for this.

Floyd Mayweather  has unofficially outlanded Manny Pacquiao 127-70 in total punches through 10 rounds, per ESPN Stats & Info fight tracking.

That feels crazy to me.  That's almost 2 to 1 and Manny is throwing all the punches. If that's legit I take my hat off to Mayweather.  That is beyond great to slip/block that many punches.

By round 9 compubox had Pacman with a grand total 1 more punch thrown than Floyd

Did Manny win?

Mayweather hardly seemed interested in even fighting.

What a dud of a fight.

That's why this fight wasn't going to "save boxing" or whatever some folks wanted.

Another reason not to pony up the cash- Mayweather is most appreciated with a few viewings. Watching nice quality replays for free this week is going to be almost as fun as live

Easy win for Mayweather. Guy is a great fighter. And yet his fights are no fun to watch unless you're REALLY into the science of boxing.

He's a terrible person, and it's never fun in a Rocky way, but it's fascinating to watch a man control two bodies in space like that. He's a matador.

I just don't understand this. Mayweather was brilliant. Pac had nothing for him. He outclassed him.

Looks like Rafael will end up 7-5 115-113 Mayweather over Manny.  I think it was probably more like 8-4 116-112 but that's splitting hairs.

I was wrong he gave Mayweather 12 so 8-4 116-112

People keep saying this--it's just not the case.

He didn't want to BRAWL. He's a defensive fighter.

It's like saying "Time Wakefield--is he even trying to pitch? They are all 65 mph."

All Mayweather fights tend to be technically great and not any fun to watch.

I didn't feel the technical brilliance.  In the past he's been a great defender with a lightning dangerous counter... he just seemed to run away and not do any damage when he did land counters.  Maybe he wins on points, but he seems to have lost a lot (he is 38).

So glad I didn't pay for this snoozefest.

Yup.  This is part of the reason why boxing is a dying sport.

People don't want to see who is the best at dodging punches.  They want to watch people who knock others the fuck out.  For better or worse.

Mayweather needs to go full Stone Cold Steve Austin and crack some beers when he's up on the ropes.

LOL
Incredible. And this is with multiple folks saying the 148 guy was uninterested, didn't show up, wasn't trying to win.

I don't know. Boxing still has that spectacle and grandiose element to it that MMA doesn't and probably will never have, IMO.

The technical brilliance = a dangerous fighter never coming close to hurting him, while Floyd is able yo stick his jab almost at will. Floyd is not a KO puncher but he doesn't need to be.

Yeah, I don't like telling people they don't know what they're talking about, but if you don't think Mayweather was trying to win, you don't know what you're talking about.

He completely neutralized Pac.

EDIT: Not to mention Pac had something to do with what Mayweather could do.

This is true. It was a hell of a fight.  Mayweather is a dispicable human being being but one hell of a boxer.  This isn't a boxing match in the movies - its a fight between two great fighters.

This post from Reddit sums it up for me...

Man that was so exciting to watch that fucking cocky guy walk backwards and dickpunch/headlock the other guy! So glad I gave a shit.
