And no one wants 7 wins. At this point it’s better to see what you got in the younger guys and try to add a few extra picks that BB will eventually trade away and / or waste. It might be a miracle to get 7 wins with Cam at this point.

Yup, perfect time for a pass. Idiotic play call.It was 2nd Down.
This. Newton playing as well as he can from here on out only helps him get a contract next year. At this point they would be better off going 4-12 and picking high then sticking with this guy and maybe going 8-8.What does starting Cam Newton and winning 6-7 games get you? Just start Stidham and know for sure he fucking sucks, go 4-12 and get a QB in next year's draft.
Yep, McDaniels is scared to death of Cam throwing. It’s time to just move on to Stidham. He’s probably not good but may as well find out for sure. The irony is that the coaches weren't taking chances by letting him throw the ball at all -- all runs and that screen pass. And he still coughed it up.
You think they only lose 3 games from here on in??Just strip it dow

There’s one thing for sure right now.. Cam isn’t goodYep, McDaniels is scared to death of Cam throwing. It’s time to just move on to Stidham. He’s probably not good but may as well find out for sure.
Getting cute at the wrong time for no reason. It's not the mortar kick against Philly, but it's pretty close. Are we going to talk about the on side kick?
Hey, it's possible. Maybe COVID and post-election violence in the streets will bring the season to an end in the next month. You think they only lose 3 games from here on in??
No. That’s why I said “maybe” 8-8. Like if everything goes well, defense plays awesome, etc. this is most likely a 6-10 team with Newton. I’d rather be 3-13 with Stidham. You think they only lose 3 games from here on in??
Thanks for reminding me that I need to resume my pre-election angst.Hey, it's possible. Maybe COVID and post-election violence in the streets will bring the season to an end in the next month.
Oops. My bad. Thanks for reminding me that I need to resume my pre-election angst.
This team isn't getting anywhere near 8 - 8 and they shouldn't try to. It is time to stink and try to get elite talent in the draft. After 20 years of excellence, what’s wrong with sucking for a year or two? Nothing worse than 8-8. Reload the roster and find QB of the future. Losing isn’t the worst thing at this point.
Until Roger thinks up a rationale for taking it away.Glass half full: One step closer to a top ten draft pick.

That was me unless there was another Bills fan - I didn't read the whole thread.Hey, that Bills fan who posted here this morning was very close, but the fumble ruined the prediction
It was going to be 3rd and short, what exactly was wrong with the play call?Yup, perfect time for a pass. Idiotic play call.
Wait, we're blaming McDaniel? They were in FG range and rolling toward a TD and a win until Superman coughed it up.Game on the line and run game dominating and McDaniels can't help but call the ol' spinorama triple lindy screen play that hasn't worked since 2008. Good stuff, Josh.
Blaming him? No. Expressing displeasure with a dumb play call that just doesn't work anymore. Yes.Wait, we're blaming McDaniel? They were in FG range and rolling toward a TD and a win until Superman coughed it up.
You have a coach who's openly talking about this being a transitional year in which they lack talent and are cap strained. You better believe he'll deal players at the deadline if the right opportunity presents.Yeah I'm not a fan of "blowing it up".......blowing what up? Trading Thuney/Gilmore/Jackson/any other of your better players........and then do what, use the draft picks you get to replace those guys?
Hopefully?
So 6 of one, half dozen of the other.
You don't have a coach here who is going to sell at the trade deadline, which is fine by me, not the kind of coach I'd want.
I feel for Cam; I really, really wanted him to succeed here, I wanted him to prove everyone wrong, light up the league and be a huge success. Between no mini camp, no preseason, trying to learn a new system and oh yeah, a bout with COVID, he's been up against it from jump.
I find it hard to believe he's stinking out the joint in practice but they are still trotting him out there every week; he's got to be showing them something that makes them want to stick with him; either that or he's not but the alternative is a tire fire and they have no choice but to stick Cam out there.
They looked horrible last week to a team that's getting lit up by a team the Patriots came a yard short of beating in week two, they looked better to me this week, although the run defense continues to be a disaster.
Who exactly did Cam have to throw to today? No Edelman/Harry (insert your joke here)/nothing at the tight end position.......................not sure what you expect from him with the weapons he had at his disposal today; that said, they were marching towards minimum a game tying field goal/possible game winning TD.
Yeah, sure, the fumble was awful, I get it.
Really not sure where they go from here, they are in a position they have not been in since 2000.
Thank God.
Well if he decides to deal away some of what little talent there is on this roster, he had better hit bigtime on the draft picks he gets in return, the teams future depends on it.You have a coach who's openly talking about this being a transitional year in which they lack talent and are cap strained. Gilmore won't be part of the next contender the Patriots put together. Why hold on to talent of that sort if you can get a good draft pick for it? I'd rather take a shot at drafting a good player who's not as good as Gilmore but is 8 years younger under a longer contract while making 5 times less money. Now, if we're talking guys like JC Jackson (and let's be honest, there aren't many of those on the team), then I agree: keep them.Well if he decides to deal away some of what little talent there is on this roster, he had better hit bigtime on the draft picks he gets in return, the teams future depends on it.
I agree with what you're saying, but the problem is it all comes down to what sort of draft pick/picks you get for him; unfortunately, rarely do you get high draft picks in trades, most times you get middling picks.Gilmore won't be part of the next contender the Patriots put together.
