However as the globe states there is a catch:

Free.
It’s a word that catches everyone’s attention and this season the Patriots are ready to give fans something at no charge: Parking at home games.
Like all good things, however, it comes only to those who wait.
Those attending games at Gillette Stadium this season can park for free by signing up for a spot in the delayed release lot — meaning you won’t be able to exit the area until 75 minutes after the game has ended. This is an expansion of a pilot program the team ran last year, and, for those familiar with the area, the free area is Lot 55 in the back of Lots 10 and 11.
I wonder what people will do for those 75 min...... Post game Tailgate party?

Seems like a way to get people to eat/spend at Patriot Place?

I did this last year at a night game. They gave away free awful pizza at Patriot Place while you waited. The experience wasn't terrible but, living as I do on the north shore, it made for a late night.

I did this for the last home game last year and it was fine. We watched the end of the Houston game on the jumbotron and then swung through the store for a few minutes. We ended up hanging out in the car about 15 minutes.

We were parked about 100 feet from people paying full freight. A lot of people retired up their grills. Now it was a 1pm game which made it no problem, I can see a night game being an issue.

$60 for parking is highway robbery.
I have tix to the Cleveland game in October. I'll either park across the street (which I typically do anyway), or I'll take advantage of the free parking. I always take my time getting out of there anyway, and yes I am one of the post-game tailgaters.

I'm curious if this means that disability parking is also increased (from $40 to $60), since it's stadium side, and something folks I've gone with have needed in the past. I've yet to get any answer from the Patriots on this. If so, it seems like it'd be a nice ADA violation.

According to the emailed map I got, ADA parking (Stadium side) is $30

Just wanted to BUMP this thread with the Patriots season starting. I live on North Street (right nearby Walgreens/Police Station) and it's easy to get through the backroads off/to the highway.

If anyone wants to park on my driveway for the game just PM me. It's a 20 minutes walk through the Putnam back enterance/train tracks.
