Same here. I loved Bill, but I am excited to see what Mayo can do and how the new guys do, especially Polk and Baker.I'm as excited for this camp as I've been for years. Can't wait for it to begin!
Less attention might be a good thing for a team with a rookie HC and rookie QB. For me, I’m pretty excited to see what Maye can show early on as well as to kick the tires on Milton’s raw talent. Aside from that, really looking forward to watch Polk and Baker at WR. Also curious to see what Marcus Jones looks like coming off the injury. Very exciting player who we haven’t gotten to see much in a long while. These guys are going to have to earn the excitement. It's fun thinking about potential and a fresh start, and honestly with Bill (and Mac) gone being a fan is less stressful, but unless the new regime can put out a good product, attention is going to be less than recent years.
What's awesome, is I can still enjoy this and be excited and you don't need to be.These guys are going to have to earn the excitement. Reporting to camp means nothing anymore. There aren’t hold outs anymore because of the fines. They are essentially hold in’s now. Whether they practice tomorrow is another story.Didn't see any updates but:
1) Maye has a chance at being QB1 (not a surprise)
2) All players reported to training camp - including Judon
The first coach post-BB and a brand new shiny QB on the sidelines are going to get a ton of attention. They might not get a ton of national attention, but this team is going to be the center of the Boston media attention come this Fall.Less attention might be a good thing for a team with a rookie HC and rookie QB. On the negative side, I’m expecting an OL shit show and hope to be proven wrong.
I don’t believe I wrote that they wouldn’t get attention, merely that it would be a good thing if they didn’t get as much attention as Pats training camps normally get.The first coach post-BB and a brand new shiny QB on the sidelines are going to get a ton of attention. Congrats on that bold prediction.I guessed right that Brisset will be QB1, love that guy
Training camp has just started. At this point in 2021 Cam was also QB1. Then he was cut.I guessed right that Brisset will be QB1, love that guy
I predict Mayo will be the coach in Week 1!Training camp has just started. At this point in 2021 Cam was also QB1. Then he was cut.
and if they overrun the play, they can't get back upfield to help without a Charlie card. You think a 300lb. lineman is going to easily fit through that? Sign me up.
That's not a violation anymore. Was it just my eyes, or did the one on the left move early?
I mean do you want him to lie and tell you everything is great?
Bedard was super critical of the offense's training camp performance and coaching in the past two seasons and they turned out to be indicative of their in-season production. It's not like he's always done this either. Of course, one practice doesn't mean anything in isolation, but I think it's a valuable perspective. At the very least as valuable as the Mark Daniels of the world and their "QB X went 15/18 in team drills today, yippeeee" approach.
Why is there not much to be positive about? Maye has looked good, hearing good things about Polk, even Thornton had a good day. The line is in flux but they don't even have pads on yet. Personally I'm pretty excited to see the young talent on offense.I mean do you want him to lie and tell you everything is great?
We always have had the glass is half full reporters here, not much to be positive about right now so it should be expected.
Because it is 2 days into training camp without pads so far.Why is there not much to be positive about? Maye has looked good, hearing good things about Polk, even Thornton had a good day. The line is in flux but they don't even have pads on yet. Personally I'm pretty excited to see the young talent on offense.
He very well may be, but the idea that the Pats OL which is among the worst in the league on paper has issues or the WR’s - young guys and mediocre veterans dealing with a new system - have issues probably isn’t indicative of him being a “doofus”Bedard is a doofus.
It's called filling time, do you want Bedard to talk about how awesome the handoffs have been from Maye? It’s my favorite time of the year where only negative things can be true of training camp. Nothing positive is real because “the pads haven’t come on yet“ but all the negative takes are 100% accurate.
Or Dennis, even.Congrats on that bold prediction.
Work on spelling his name next.
That throw looked so smooth and easy. Haven't seen that in a few yearsHere's something to be positive about:

In a real game Polk gets destroyed by the safety unless the ball gets there sooner, nice placement otherwise by Maye though. Here's something to be positive about:

This is literally the contract I wanted them to offer Peppers while letting Dugger walk instead of overpaying for a poor coverage box safety.I like Peppers. Happy to see him stick around.
