How? I don't think there's real time video available on those tablets is there? I thinks it's just replays, aka film.
I dont mean video. I'm thinking more in terms of coming back after a series checking the tablets, coaches giving him adjustments, talking receivers and linemen about routes and protection, etc. I'm sure it happened in college, but the schemes here, and thus the adjustments here, are more complex. And like everything else, both on the field and on the sidelines, things are happening at greater speed than he's ever been a part of. Something along the lines of "what does Brissett do when he comes off the field after a series" (in a real game).

I don't think sitting during a game has any benefits to the player. Seeing how a veteran prepares for a game week, having more time to study the playbook and rep in practice with the sole focus on improving instead of specifically performing in that game, that helps. Watching from the sidelines to me is kind of meaningless in terms of his growth.
There's more happening on the sidelines than just watching, though. (At least there should be). What happens on the sidelines during a game is not as important as what happens on the field (duh), but it is important.
