So, the case to play Cam for rushes in the red zone just went down?

You'd figure he'd be getting these types of players on day 3 -- RB, LB, S -- so they at least can play some special teams.

I do like the fact he can pass block. It's hard to get on the field in the Patriots' system if you can't pass block as a running back.

Yup, it keeps getting clearer and clearer to me that the idea is to build a big nasty team that physically punishes people (especially teams with 230 pound linebackers and playing predominantly nickel) on both sides of the ball

With James White coming back, we didn’t need a scat back (at least this year). Sony won’t be here in 2022 so this pick makes sense. I personally love it. The physicality of this team should be great.

Our QB is huge. Our OL is huge. Our RBs are bowling balls. We physical, they finesse. Now, we just need Cam to be able to throw the ball past 5 feet.

@SMU_Sox, you steered us right again with this pick!
One of maybe 10 guys on day 3 of 150+ that I thought was a five out of five for the patriots in terms of fit. I wrote about him here: best fits

He has a unique story and an NFL strength and conditioning program is going to turn him into a monster. He is the best in pass pro in the class and is made for gap power. He can catch it too for a big guy. He is going to replace Sony in a year after he has had time to acclimate and he has the potential to take carries away from Harris. I am to the moon with this pic I really am that excited about his fit on the patriots.

Maybe a security blanket for a young QB? Parcells got Butts to pass block for Bledsoe.

From The Oklahoman:
Stevenson missed last season's Peach Bowl and the first five games of this season due to suspension, which sources said was due to a positive marijuana test.

At that size can he play some fullback too, or is that reserved to former rugby players?

Seems to have good patience for a big guy—doesn’t necessarily look like there MUST be a hole for him to hit immediately. And with this OL you don’t expect there to be too many times an RB is getting hit in the backfield.

Not that it means much but the Oklahoma fans seem to love this dude. A power back in this offense could do some big work real fast

Had to look up Jerome Bettis' combine stats for comparison. Bettis: 4.48 at 248 pounds. Stevenson 4.64 at 231 pounds. Man the Bus could generate some force

This pick made these three days special. I love this pick.

. Belichick is creating Ravens North. Take advantage of the lighter,, faster defenses by constructing an offense designed to maul. Create a defense that punish an opponent as much as the offense will. He has flipped the script and in the process he has taken advantage of talent by being one of only a few teams to exploit this advantage. Heavy TEs, WRs that compliment a run first game, QBs whose strength will be to take advantage of one on one coverage deep as opposing defenses get sucked into an eight man box. Grinding time consuming drives. This is the Belichick who created defenses designed to stop pass happy offenses in San Francisco and Buffalo as the Giants' DC. I am loving this. So excited fir the upcoming season now.

I love how BB changes the whole league, then when people adjust, he takes advantage of the changes to switch back. Just when they think they know all the answers, he changes the questions.

I love this pick. Watching the highlights on NFLN one could immediately see the similarities to Blount. Belichick has now built a team that will answer the question: "What happens when the dog actually catches the car"

Bill is zigging to bully ball as everyone is going finesse with mobility players. Love this strategy!

BB is a value investor contrarian and buys cheap what others avoid. If he can't get a stud QB at his price, he'll design another way to win. In this instance what seems to be a ground and pound physical approach. Dominant D and punishing time eating offense. In the long-run he should see more profit than loss. He might not win a SB, but he might catch Shula.

Is he more of a threat to catch the ball that Blount? His numbers suggest so but I don't know a lick about CFB.

Being a power running team is great but the Ravens and Titans - the best power teams in the league - haven’t been able to get past KC.

The Pats are gonna have to be able to throw at some point.

Neither of their defenses have been able to do what the Pats have to KC...it helps to have the best defensive mind ever on the sideline.

I also love that he did this while Brady was still here and Gronk was slowing down as a receiver and stole another ring in the process.
