I’m guessing renegotiation although could be retirement I didn’t realize how old he was
Renegotiation wouldn't warrant a tweet, nevermind the "big, big news" part ... he's either trolling or retiring

This thread title is misleading. I was promised "shock" and got it with the Hunter Henry signing. Where's my "awe"?

Here's your awe

“This (start to free agency) strikes me as pure Bill Belichick. You got problems all over the place. Which clearly he identified. ... . Just go move and fix them. And be aggressive. I think it’s great.” - Bill Polian on the Patriots free agency attack

I’m pretty confident that BB does not update his current players on the status of FA negotiations.

Chung wanted his twitter followers to feel what he feels when trying to cover a good TE: burnt.

Best day 3 news for the offense would be:

1. Resign Andrews
2. Sign Curtis Samuel
3. Sign Philip Lindsay (replacing White)
4. Don't sign Golladay (to huge dollars, even if cap space was available)

Maybe not shock-and-awe but cherries on top.

Still hearing that the #Patriots could add another wide receiver. Lot of guys still unsigned because the money they want isn’t out there. Would expect top of market receivers to get paid, but others might settle for one-year deals.

I just don’t see how any decent WR would take a one year deal to play with Cam but it would be great to be wrong. Lots of intriguing names still out there:

Golladay
Samuel
JuJu
Fuller
Watkins
Hilton
The agents are expecting the cap to make up & then some for the 2022 FA period. Wouldn't you want to play for a proven OC + HC with #1 WR need, even if it's Cam?

Play for 1 guaranteed year, have years 2-3 voidable and hit the market again after playing in NE. Makes sense to me. This is especially true for someone like Fuller, who needs to prove that he can stay on the field for more than half the season.

Tough call. How much volume is going to be there in a likely run-based system that now has a lot of capable mouths to feed and, most importantly, a suboptimal QB making those throws?

If I’m banking on a reset year, I’m looking at places with a better thrower, even if I’m not a true #1 option.

But I acknowledge that there is some rationale for choosing NE since you could make an educated guess that a talented, young QB will be joining the team by the draft.

In any event, I will continue to hope we snag one of these guys as long as it’s conceivable to do so.

I'd imagine the type of player would influence that too. A more versatile player may be more interested in working in a Patriots offense that makes your versatility a real asset.
