Now that the final cuts are in from the big club, the PawSox roster has taken shape.  Hope I'm not omitting anyone, but as best I can tell, we've got bona fide quality prospects at every position plus all starting pitchers.  Has this ever happened before?!  This is on top of the Moncada signing and soon to be high amateur draft pick.  This year is already shaping up as another great one for the minor league system

OF: Castillo, JBJ, Brentz
IF: Cecchini, Marrero, Coyle, Shaw
C: Swihart

Starting pitchers:  Owens, ERod, Barnes, Johnson, Escobar

Not here
I wish they were coming to Charlotte before August.

Castillo will be gone by then, and I wouldn't be remotely surprised if Owens, Rodriguez, and Barnes were all gone by then too.

Atlanta in June.
They come here immediately after the big club. You can see five Sox games in five days, two Red and three Paw.

The bullpen is also pretty stacked: Workman, Spruill, Hembree and Noe Ramirez -- plus Wright will join them once Kelly's activated. Couch and either Celestino or Hinojosa probably round out the crew. Layne or Ross will head down when Koji comes back. Also, one of the Crosby/Hoffman/Todd/Eveland NRIs might be sticking around if the PawSox begin the year with anyone on the DL (though Eveland can opt out).

Solid bench as well, which looks like Quintero, Weeks, Bianchi, Tekotte, and either Berry or Montz.

EDIT - Per Chris Hatfield over at SP, Eveland and Quintero both agreed not to opt out of their deals and will accept minor league assignments to the PawSox.

That team would finish higher than the Twins.

Maybe we should give them a shot at the Twins.

They want a ring.

Last year's Sea Dogs went 88-54. That's 88 wins in a 142 game season, a pace that would yield 100 wins over 162.

We already ruled out that trip, or if be pushing for it.

edwin escobar was placed on 15-day DL with left elbow inflammation.  ughhhhhh
Given how awful his control was in the last spring outing I saw him work, that's a small relief. At least there was a reason. Hopefully he's not bound for TJS.

Roster announced (* 40-man roster):

(SP) Barnes*, E.Rodriguez*, Owens, B.Johnson, Couch (BOS DL: Escobar*)
(RP) Workman*, Hembree*, Spruill*, Eveland, Hinojosa, Celestino, N.Ramirez
(OF) Brentz*, Bradley, Jr.*, Castillo*, Berry
(IF) Shaw*, Coyle*, Marrero, Cecchini*, Weeks, Bianchi, Montz
(C ) Swihart*, Quintero (3rd C: Spring)

Note that the Red Sox will need to make two moves by mid-April when Uehara and Kelly are activated.  Likely that means Wright and Layne bumped to AAA (both have one option remaining), with Couch to AA and Eveland released (my guess only).  Tekotte was sent to Portland.

I would think Celestino and Ramirez would be candidates to go back to Portland rather than releasing Eveland.

Thanks for the heads up. I bought a ticket for Saturday in Lehigh Valley. Not a bad drive from Delaware County Pa.
