Got my copy today, just in time for a cross country flight tonight. I expect to read the whole thing in one sitting.

i'd say at least 500 people showed up to the thing here in NYC, maybe twice that.

at least as much Mets gear in line as Sox gear.

asked him bear vs shark. Pedro votes shark, speaking as a fisherman.

glad we settled that.

I didn't have time to wait in the very long line, but just getting a quick glance and seeing him look so happy and relaxed was pretty cool.

Pedro signed my Mother's Day card in addition to the book. To the best, from the best. I love him so hard.

Also, Michael Silverman thought it was pretty funny when I asked why Shaughnessy passed on the assignment.

Hell, I love Pedro more than most of the human beings I have met before.

So, then, you must have known this:

On page 168 of his new autobiography, co-written with Boston Herald baseball columnist Michael Silverman, and simply and rightly titled “Pedro,” Martinez acknowledges that flowers, not baseball, are his first love. Like many of the book’s revelations, this will not be news to serious Pedro-heads. . .

Here
Pedro is giving a very candid interview on EEI now for those interested.

Shit, this is probably the best interview this station has ever had the fortune of airing. Now he's talking about how they used to spike Manny's drinks with Viagra.

I stayed up super late last night, sort of like I did when Pedro pitched in west coast games, and finished PEDRO. It was great. I don't want to spoil anything because it's worth the read. The relationships he had with Tek & Joe Kerrigan were really interesting.  And the way Pedro welcomed new managers to the team was hilarious.
