Oh man, hope everything is OK with you Pedey.

Sucks it's during an incredible hot streak but that's irrelevant at this moment.

Not here
I'm hoping this is a "someone's about to give birth" thing and not a "someone might die" thing.

I doubt it's either of those. Otherwise he would have been placed on paternity leave or bereavement list

For crying out loud. Can anything else go wrong this season? Hope it is something fixable. Godspeed Pedy.

No roster move for Dustin, so hopefully he's only out a day or two, otherwise I'd assume they'd move him to Family/bereavement/paternity leave (or, the Restricted/Disabled list if none of the other buckets fit).

I'm just hoping it's not a "my brother got caught molesting another kid" thing.
There's nothing good to hope for here. This would be terrible. So would every other thing speculated about in this thread. Best we can do is hope whatever it is, it's not something that will have a long term impact on anyone.

Might be one of the 'sad but life is what it is' things, where maybe an old relative died (grandparent, elderly uncle, that sort of thing) where it's not so much a tragedy or a crisis, but you gotta go be with your family.

That Bradford tweet certainly seems to point that direction.

Interesting that they aren't utilizing the bereavement list to call up an extra player like they did for Hanley last week. I guess if they're sure he'll be back in time to play Tuesday, they see no sense in him being forced to miss that game too. Hopefully that doesn't cost them anything.

So he is currently hitting .328 and has an outside chance of winning a batting title. .328 is also a career high. He's hitting over .455 since August 9. 51/112, including the 2/2 so far today. Altuve is currently at .342.
