Mark Madden is a complete, complete idiot. There's nothing in Boston or New York sports media that compares to his idiocy and axe grinding.

Now, sometimes legit stories are broken by unlikely outlets. The National Enquirer broke the John Edwards story. But I view any tweet from Mark Madden with the highest possible degree of skepticism.

ESPN just reported Paterno had a messenger come to his house 15 mins before the press conference with an envelope.
The envelope had instructions to call a number, where two BoT answered and told him he was fired. That's shady stuff.

"Yeah, I was kicked out of college. But there was a really good reason--I started a fire in support of the fired football coach."
What is there to worry about? No one who saw him do it will go to the cops.

It's the biggest sports scandal of all time, college or otherwise. Congratulations Black Sox, you're off the hook.

The Catholic Church scandal was broader and had a greater human toll, but no one part of that story could match the incredible intensity of this.

Clever way to prove that Paterno's phone worked for outgoing calls. Hopefully the number given had a 9 and a 1 in it...

Is it? I don't get it.

Allegedly the PSU Seniors are refusing to play this Saturday.

If what I was told tonight about the details of the new allegation in Sandusky child sex case is true, it will horrify the public.

Shady? How so?

Oh I just mean why not call him, or go there? The messenger part is strange to me.

Can one of these "reporters" just say whatever the fuck it is, and not tease child molestation stories on twitter.

Well, broadly, yeah? Player safety and competitive balance are what the NCAA is there for.

I don't wanna get V&N here, but it would be like getting on the SEC if this same situation had occurred at Goldman Sachs. Sure they oversee many of the activities of the organization, but there are also a lot of aspects that they don't oversee.
As a former Goldman cult member employee, I can certainly tell you CEO Lloyd Blankfein always fulfilled his legal obligation to report all incidents of sexual assault up the chain of command to the Chairman of the Board, Lloyd Blankfein.

Obviously, Sandusky's victims are the biggest by infinite orders of magnitude. It's also a shame that many people who are innocent and depend on PSU football are going to pay the cost of a select few in management.

If there is one iota of goodness in this it is that the destruction of PSU football as it is known will probably hurt that sick fucking sociopath Jerry Sandusky more than any memories or knowledge of the young lives he has destroyed. Eat it up.

What a fucking shock that you, The Worst Poster on Sons of Sam Horn, are missing the forest for the trees.
Folks, Laddie is a guy with secrets to hide. I won't tell you what he did to my cousin a few years back until I'm subpoenaed, but it won't be long. He is not a respectable chap.

Laddie is the snowboarder whose head smacks off too many trees while pretending he can make it thru the forest. It's sad, but amusing at the same time.

They'll lose by 30, I wouldn't want to play either.

pSU Radio reporting seniors won't play Saturday.
I don't know why PSU hasn't already forfeited the game, or at least commit to donating the gate receipts / tv money from the game to a charity

There's absolutely nothing good that will happen on Saturday if the game is played as if it's a normal game... at BEST, the fans are going to turn PSU (instead of just the athletics dept) into a national pariah

I have been saying elsewhere (as a Nebraska fan) that if they do play the game on Saturday that it should be moved to Pittsburgh as Heinz Field is available. I just don't think State College is prepared to host or is the place to have a football game on Saturday afternoon for a multitude of reasons.

Then there was the kid that says he shouldn't be fired because of what he's done for PSU? How about what he and all of PSU didn't do for those kids that got abused by Sandusky?

I can't believe anybody is defending Paterno or anybody in this case.

But he should be COACH FOR LIFE!!?#!

Is anybody other than the college kids really defending him, though?

I have people telling me that we should all wait for all the facts to come out and then act on Paterno. People are saying to me that he did enough and it was all on the upper management people at PSU for it and the school should have decided whether the allegations were true before going to the police. They are comparing it to the Duke lacrosse case.

This shit is unbelievable. Students throwing rocks at reporters and police. According to ESPN, police losing control of the situation.

Had to know worse allegations were coming. Pulling this outta my ass, were people from 2nd Mile involved in the cover up (Matt Millen and other board members?) or possibly even active participants in abuse? Was the whole charity nothing more than a safe haven for pedophiles, a la the Catholic Church? Either that or maybe somebody has some nasty dirt on Paterno or the administration that is just now forcing the board's hand. Yesterday they announced their intention to meet Friday, then all of a sudden change course and make a hasty announcement at 10pm at night? Get the feeling this was done in anticipation of further revelations.

Am I right in understanding that the Penn St band plays a Gary Glitter song (Rock and Roll Part II) for football entrance music? That would be all kinds of wrong if the game is played on Saturday.
