Also the shitty announcers, which make it hard for me to take postseason baseball as seriously as I should.
Smoltz talks too much, which hurts him because he does have interesting things to say, but other than that I didn't find them too bad. I'm not sure what people want in announcers for these type events.

Yeah, it's a big discussion. Personally I would like no national color guys as 99 percent of them suck and their presence makes the games feel less important to me, a play by play guy plus one local color guy from each of the two teams involved, three man booth and no Smoltz or Harold Reynolds ever.

So Schmidt and Geoff Blum? That’s a lot of Bregman and Bohm ball-washing but would still be an improvement sure
Who would you want as PBP?
Orsillo?
actually that would kind of be great you’re right

Something like what Peacock did this year? It was Benetti and 2 local color guys every week.

Hmm, I have been surprised how tolerable I find Davis. As for Smoltz, if he would only let the game breathe more, I would find his analysis helpful. He just talks too much.

For me it’s not analysis (although IMO Smoltz usually sucks at that too), it’s conveying the importance of these games to each specific franchise.

I'm with you. I love the idea of a good PBP guy with a color guy from each local market. The national broadcasts just feel lifeless to me, and the ones who try to add life end up so over the top that it is comical.

Papi with a Hakeem Olajuwon shirt on tonight. The pregame panel with Papi, ARod and Frank Thomas think that the Astros, with their backs against the wall, will play better tonight and win.

You know what World Series team was going home sitting 2 - 0? The 86 Red Sox. Lot of good it did them.

They said this ump tends to give pitchers the bottom of the zone, which is good for Valdez. Last night the ump seemed to call a lot of really high strikes, which the Houston pitchers seemed better able than Phillies to take advantage of.

The Astors offensive is relentless out the gate.

Let's see what you got Philly. Can't keep digging them holes.

I don’t watch Valdez a lot but there is a lot of touching before he throws the ball, usually before the curve. Rubs the baseball, touches the back of his dreadlocks, a finger to the temple.
