deep inside Guido territory
PG Kidd $2
SG Jordan $4
SF Battier $1
PF Manning $4
C Walton $4

Jordan, Battier, Manning, and Walton are 4 of the top 10 college players of all-time. Kidd would be a great facilitator for these guys.

C/PF: Davis $1
PF/C: Duncan $2
SF: Bird $5
SG: Anthony $2, playing out of position
PG: Magic $5

Good luck and guard me with your 5-10 college guys. Duncan and AD clean up all of Bird and Carmelo mistakes on D.
I'm a little slow, but there wasn't that much speed here.

Just college only.

First off, what in the world is Jay Bilas doing on this? He's not anywhere near those other guys.

My team:

PG - Curry $3
SG - Jordan $4
SF - Anthony $2
PF - Duncan $2
C - Walton $4

Best shooting possible with Curry. In college Carmelo was insane and would be an absolute load to stop. Duncan was incredible and Walton was phenomenal at everything. And then we have Jordan. I could even sub in Ewing for Walton and have some money left over. But this team would have great passing, excellent defense, great shooting, fantastic rebounding, and scoring out the wazoo.

Neither Battier not Jordan were top-10 (college) all-time IMHO.

Jordan was partly hidden by Dean due to their system (and having Worthy and Perkins).

I love how Laettner, Hurley, Battier didn't amount to much in the NBA, compared to their success in college. Was tempted to pick Redick though based on cheapness.

Jordan, in three seasons, won the ACC freshman of the year, was a 2-time first team All-American, and won the national player of the year. In NC's team-first system he averaged about 18 points a game and shot 54% from the floor. Also obviously was a national champion as well.

The guy was unreal. And was the best player on the 1984 Olympic team too (all college players). The guy had a ridiculously great college career and was WAY better than his stats suggested.

I'm having a 4 person tv announcing booth calling these games, with Gus Johnson joing Walton, Bilas, and Grant (who would just smile, because he wouldn't get anything in over Walton and Bilas), with JW in the pregame show.

College JJ Redick was a supervillain. Getting him for $1 is a complete steal. It's hard for me to pay the extra $1 for Curry at PG when I ultimately don't need his scoring as much as I need spacing. I can get the same value out of Redick and also save $1 at PG by getting a lockdown D/genius tablesetter in Kidd.

Also, the major missing person here is Russell, who is one of the three best college players of all-time behind Alcindor and Walton. But if you include him suddenly center becomes too loaded because then you can get Ewing for $2, so I can understand why they decided to just forget about him.

Walton, Alcindor, Shaq, Hayes, Manning, Magic, Bird, Anthony in his 1 year, Sampson, Maravich, West, Wilt, Oscar, Russell, Unseld. That's 15 right there better than Jordan in college. Probably Laettner too.

where I was last at
5-Center $5 Alcindor
4-F $2 Duncan
3- F $2 Melo
2-G $4 Jordan
1 PG $2 Kidd

I don't see this team playing as college kids losing to any other combo.

Though I'd like to see them play a Walton-Bird-Curry team

and fwiw David Thompson should be a $5 guard

I'm also getting Boeheim to coach and we're playing the 2-3, Anthony can help teach it to his teammates

Carmelo Magic

(ss) Davis Duncan Bird (ws)

(Although it be annoying to hear Bilas talk about length all game long)

The Brow, Redick, and Battier are the biggest steals on that list. Battier didn't play the 3 in college though, he played the 4. Therefore:

PG Kidd $2
SG Redick $1
SF Bird $5
PF Battier $1
C Brow $1

Beat that at $10

I'll happily pit my team against anyone else's. Let's see anyone's team stop Curry, Jordan, Carmelo, Duncan, and Walton. Good luck.

:)

(I love these games, by the way!)

The only thing that makes sense is they are confusing him with Len Bias. But it doesn't make sense because Len Bias is a $4-$5 college basketball player.
Hmmmm maybe. But it's like, one of these things is not like the others. Bilas' best college season (his junior year) he averaged 10.1 points and 6.0 rebounds a game. I mean....what in the world is he doing here?

This is what I came up with, as well. I don't think anyone is beating this lineup.

I also came up with Walton $4, Duncan $2, MJ $4, Curry $3, Kidd $2, but I don't think they beat what you've put together.

Jordan was very good in college but I think at guard there may be others. At least for first team. I think people have bias because he was the GOAT of the NBA for his time.

I refuse to play until Bilas sends out a new one with Kemba Walker taking the place of one of his Duke guards.
