It’s a psi-op - like everything else at Fox. They’re a mouthpiece for intelligence agencies. They’re trying to link imagery of sports with military, hysteria, terrorism, etc. It’s a repulsive network.

Don't worry, folks! I have it on good authority (namely multiple posters on here) that this team WILL make the playoffs as a Wild Card team, and then anything can happen! They will likely get swept in their first series, but they'll be a playoff team! EXCITING STUFF!
Having just read the game view on Stats, I conclude that Sawamura doesn't stink, and Diekman, who usually does, didn't stink last night. The Red Sox have forgotten how to hit. It's not entirely the personnel. I wonder about the hitting coach. Is he any good? Anybody know anything about him? Anyway, X, JDM, and Verdugo grounding out, flying out, and grounding out the pitches of Ryan F-ing Weber is hard to comprehend. Do the NYY just have much, much, much better coaching?

Well I think it’s been pretty clear that they are a flawed team and not the best or second best team in the league. It is also pretty clear they have a shot at the playoffs.
Are you saying it doesn’t make sense to even try for the playoffs because they won’t win? Because I think a natural progression from that stance is trade Bogaerts and see if Story can play SS. I’d like them to sign Bogaerts but it is more important to sign Devers so unless they take care of Devers first I assume Xander is gone after this year. So if we are punting on the season send him now.
Or are you saying they should improve the team now? There is not much they can do to be better than NY this year so I wouldn’t spend much to GFIN. The team is pretty much a flawed but finished product for 2022.
Or are you saying we should be more upset about the Sox losing the division? They lost the division in April. Over that.
I like a lot of these guys. I like Cora. No opinion on Bloom. They aren’t a bad product to watch and they slumped last year and were fun at the end. Hell the 2004 and 2013 teams looked a bit lost there at times and pulled it together at the end. I don’t expect any of that this year but, hey, it’s not awful and you never know.
You're asking these questions of a poster who is on record as saying the Red Sox won't win 80 games.
The fact is, grinding axes happens all too often, and much of the time it's coming from the other side. Wherever the random "I was told/I have on good authority..." posts come from, they are worthless and beyond annoying, and below the level of discourse expected here. Argue all you want in the moment, but these callbacks, from all quarters, need to stop.
This season, and the actions of the team at the trade deadline could still go any number of ways, and there is no prize for being right.
