Realness and his boy gotta bat lead off for the playoff run...they should be available in the ‘pen as needed too (just to continue the tortured analogy). It’s go time, eh boys?

My 6 year old (yesterday!) has really taken his hockey love to another level this year. He got into it last year (my HOF wife let him stay up and watch the whole game 4(?) OT loss to TB last season), but is super into it now.

Also quite enjoyable is that he is loving skating right now- he came on the ice for a couple of my U14 team practices and had a blast just getting on the ice. Fuck me I need a backyard rink.

@TFP- how’s your new backyard? I’d make the trip with the boy for some free ice.

Backyard rinks really aren’t worth it in Eastern Mass. We don’t have enough sub 33 degree to make it worth the effort. Full disclosure I’m drunk and really didn’t read your post. I just saw the words backyard rink and I brought back a rant from when I tried to build one in 2012.

I’m on the Cape, so it’s worse. Sucks. Rory is in N.H. though, so maybe that works better. And is Hudson E Mass?

I’d say central. I’m in Tewksbury I think I’m actually a couple of towns away from him.
Hudson mass...was bringing nick into this.

Regardless, I know there were more outdoor frozen water days when I was a kid than there are now.

Game thread will likely be started day of game, as that is what I did during the run and I don’t like change.

This confused me as my name is Rory and I am in fact in NH. At least one year away from trying to make a backyard rink.

100%, was just making a gamethread to hold us until Thursday.

I see where the initial confusion popped up through my poor wording. I was trying to sucker @TFP into building a rink for me and my son to skate on, but when @Salem's Lot correctly mentioned it’s too warm in eastern ma, I threw you out there as N.H. is a bit colder I would guess. But then I think he thought I meant Hudson, NH not Hudson, MA, as I don’t think Tewksbury is a few towns from Hudson MA. But maybe it is.

This is why I wanted a game thread to hold us over, so I could make dumb drunken posts to you clowns.

I want to move to East Derry in the next 2-3 years, as my current house barely has enough for a small rink, but my kids are little so we shall see. Backyard is really uneven so it’s going to be a project at my current home.

Even then, this year would not have been good for a backyard rink. You need steady cold, and we didn’t get much of that this year.

I don’t really have a backyard and it’s mostly too warm. There’s a pond behind my house though that freezes over in the winter.

And here I am looking for a house near a disc golf course so I can play a round every day after work. Having an adult sport is nothing like what I expected it to be. I'm way more into it than I should be, but its soooooooo good for my health.

This whole sequence was very confusing until you said this. I can see clearly now.

There are roughly 8 million ponds near us in Maynard, Acton, Concord and Stow and I have yet to find one that is both easy to get to (i.e. you don't need to go through someone's backyard to get there) and freezes over.

Tripps Pond in Hudson. There's even parking.

Where did you see that it was Kampfer and not Kampfer/Clifton? Everything I saw had them splitting duties there which leads me to believe it's still undecided who plays.

Would like Millar over Kampfer
I dunno, I don't think Kevin Millar can skate very well. He'll always be 1 of the 25 though.

Cassidy didn’t rule out Moore for game 1 either. We’ll see if he practices with the team over the next 2 days.

It was a Herald writer named Marissa on Twitter. Forgot her last name.

I’m working from home today and put Netflix’s Our Planet on for my two year old daughter and she is ENTHRALLED.

I am so happy right now (I love these nature shows).

Goddammit. I was thinking of the A in Kevan when I put the A in Miller. And no, I'm not drunk yet.

My son lives for that shit, it's awesome.
