I don't like the crap I have to deal with when people talk about "Cheatriots". It shouldn't bother me and most of the time I laugh it off, but sometimes it does bother me and I think, man I'd like to have these titles without any of that other nonsense. But...

I'd rather have the 6 with the nonsense than 3 without. Other fans can go screw.

The adjacent poll could be whether NON Pats fans would rather have any titles under a cloud of suspicion or none and be completely clean. I think we all can guess how that would turn out as well.

I mean this with no offense to anyone. Fuck everyone else, go Pats. The NFL is a corrupt goliath with zero redeeming qualities. I hate it more with each passing month. I love the Patriots. Hope Brady retires with 10 rings. Everything else is noise.

Shit, I would accept more dubious scandals if it would allow the team to go back and complete the 2007 season the way they should have.

I'll keep the six, plus they should probably have at least two more.

I'd probably prefer the current 6 over having no cloud of nonsense, but also a 50-50 coin flip to possibly void one of the 6.

It's worth something to me, sure, but not THAT much in the scheme of things. You really weighted this poll to the point of getting no useful information out of it on where that boundary lies.

If the Pats had actually cheated and won because of it, I'd think differently. Spygate? Deflategate? Bengalghazi? Pure unadulterated nonsense. Oh, and fuck everyone.

Because that's what the person who brought the point up stated. I wasn't looking for the boundary. I was interested in the bright line the poster had created. You are more than welcome to tease out the nuances in another completely non-scientific poll.

Also, do you have to try to sneak in a dig in what is clearly a throwaway thread? Not everything has to be a dissertation.

This. If we're keeping 5, maybe, just to make my family more tolerable during the holidays but even then fuck it. If they choose to be ignorant that's on them.

3 is so normal. This team has obliterated the record book. The fact that outsiders look for reasons to knock their accomplishments down a few pegs is testament to just how otherworldly they’ve been. I think *some* of this comes with the territory.

Question: In this hypothetical, do we have the same number of successful years / SB appearances, just with only 3 wins? Or is the team’s dynastic reign just a lot shorter?

Because the former would be filled with a shit ton of misery (and make the team a laughing stock of a different kind).

When I am wearing a Pats shirt or sweatshirt and someone comes at me with “CHEATERS!!!” I laugh.

Especially if they start up with “Deflategate” crap. In all honesty, wearing Pats gear can really help sort out the morons/whiners you encounter on a daily basis.

Tom Brady has as many or more Super Bowls than any franchise in the league. It is hard to put into words how little I care what fans of those teams think. We have been lucky enough to watch the greatest quarterback and greatest coach of all time dominate an entire league for two decades so lol boo boo to everybody else.

Sometimes I wonder if the four games off was actually beneficial to Brady and the team as a forced rest that made him peak more toward the end of the year. He certainly peaked the last 20 minutes or so of the year.

So, at least in some sense, they did win because of it!

Though to be clear, in this case they won because of the undeserved punishment for the totally non-cheating incident. And thus, thank you and fuck you again, Roger.

Name me one Super Bowl champion from the last 53 years and I can probably find you a story of steroid allegations, in season suspensions, salary cap manipulation, bounty scandals, cheating, domestic violence, etc. I don’t think a “clean” Super Bowl season exists for any fanbase.

Some of the best times I've had as a sports fan are watching the Patriots win titles amidst "scandals". Nobody hates a losing team so I take it as a compliment. Other fans are simply jealous of the run that Pats fans have had and look to anything to knock it.
