Wittenburg to Charles....and I'm a UVA alum.

Last year was pretty cool too. Still defending champs! WAHOOOWA.
So basically the only team to be champs for two straight years while only winning one national championship. Kind of a weird but interesting historical fact now.

My favorite image of March Madness, and @Dan Murfman you might agree, is Ricky Moore at the end of the '99 title game when he was snarling after getting a key defensive stop. He was the heart and soul of that team moreso than Khalid, Rip, or Jake. Man I'm going to miss this.

Easily
Dan, of the four UConn men's titles, which one was your favorite?
Don't even have to think about it. Their first in '99. They had been so close to the Final Four so many times and to finally make it. I was never more nervous watching a game than I was than the Elite 8 game against Gonzaga. And then to go in there and beat the team were saying was one of the best of all time just icing on the. And of course this all before the Sox in 2004 so it was quite the ride.

To respond to @RedOctober3829 Absolutely. Not only the great defense on that last play but he was the leading scorer in the first half I believe.

Scotty Thurman's shot over Duke in 1994:

I was a sophomore at Arkansas for this. We were in Bud Walton in a buddy's suite, watching on a huge screen they had up on the court. It was incredible and when this shot fell it was absolute madness. We partied all night on Dickson Street, high-fiving and hugging everyone. Totally rad.

Edited to add...if anyone got arrested or a ticket or whatever that night, the fine was the final score of the game - $76.72.

He also kept the team in it in the first half.

Pounding his chest and just the absolute fury in his face that Langdon thought he was going to take him one on one.

When I wanted a late night laugh this season, I turned on whatever PAC12 game was being telecast and kept it on if Walton was the commentator. Never failed to put a smile on my face.
