Awful match but got 3 points sans Martial and Rashford. Now on to the nauseating task of rooting for Arsenal tomorrow.

The Chelsea - Sunderland game looks like their might be 5 goals scored in the second half, it's end to end every 90 seconds.

Borini levels for Sunderland.

and Defoe gives the Black Cats the lead!

Yedlin with the nice cross to start the chance.

I see that Chelsea have returned to their regularly scheduled programming of not giving a shit.

In the misery loves company derby, Villa seem to be playing for a draw and Newcastle can't get through the middle.

Disastrously bad game for West Ham. Credit to Swansea I guess they did have more blocks than Legoland. Giving up 3 was bad, but probably could have scored 4 or 5.

Damn, I forgot they were a game behind, I was really hoping that was it for him.

California. Duh.
And speaking of Terry, Robert Huth was suspended today but wasn't going to miss out on the celebrations.

No word on whether he is planning on sleeping with a teammate's wife tonight.

Blah. Spurs mostlu sleepwalked through that game but deserved at least a draw -- Southampton scored with their only two shots on target of the game. They badly missed Dembele though.

Why no Ozil for Arsenal today?

Atletico is playing against already-relegated Levante. Torres scored a great goal in the second minute. Now, Atletico is sitting back as if they were playing Bayern. For those who take issue with the way Atletico plays, today really highlights how frustrating this style can be. Atletico is more talented than Levante, and more motivated, yet they continue to play such a defensive-minded game with the defense aligned so far back. It's annoying, frankly, and doesn't speak well of Atletico's style.

You don't see Arsenal play for a draw often but I suppose a point is enough for them today
Not sure they're playing for the draw intentionally, they just can't create/score goals.

Feels like the type of game where one of these teams gets a player sent off. Besides the slipping, there's been a lot of rash challenges.

Levante came back and beat Atletico, ending their title hopes. Our old friend Giuseppe Rossi scored the winner in the 90th minute.

Yeah. It had to be Rossi. My wife is like, "Why are you so upset about losing this match?" "Oh, just the American soccer traitor had to put in the winning goal to end Atletico's league title chances."

Atletico loses 2-1. This is what happens when a team plays 35 minutes or so in the first half only defending against the league's worst team with nothing to play for except pride. Embarrassing match today. I don't think Barcelona will lose next week, which Atletico needed to be league champsions, but I didn't want the season to end against Levante.

Well they do have one kinda important game remaining.

I guess. But Atletico has a week of rest until next week's match, then two weeks of rest before Champions League final. I liked the idea of not risking Godin's and Griezmann's health by forcing them into 90 minutes.

Edit: My frustration, really, stems from Simeone's over-reliance on defense in these sort of matches. Rather than taking it to Levante, just running them into the ground, Simeone opts for two defensive midfielders and a defensive strategy, one that consisted of a long stretch of sitting way too far back. Atletico lost this way to Sporting, another team that will finish either relegated or bottom-four. Atletico plays this defensive game better than any club in the world, but it's a frustrating strategy when Atletico clearly has more talent than the other team. Simeone needs to learn from these sorts of games, I think.

Norwich's chief exec David McNally resigned on Saturday night. It sounded sudden and impulsive, and his tweet about it was deleted, but sure enough he's stepped down.
I guess the frustration of impending regulation combined with total lack of chances (we haven't scored since April 2) was finally too much to take for the guy.

Who are neutrals rooting for in the Greater Manchester suck-off for 4th place? I was very much hoping that West Ham would somehow grab the spot, but the loss against Swansea has taken that (never likely) outcome off the table. Barring an Arsenal loss to Villa at home, which would be something even for them, it seems to be City v. United for the last CL spot.

In general, I have a policy of always rooting for bad things to happen to Manchester United and so my knee jerk reaction would be to hope they counter-choke tomorrow, handing the CL spot back to City (unless they counter-counter-choke against Swansea).

On the other hand, who is not intrigued by the prospect of watching Pep Guardiola miserably pace the sidelines on a cold Thursday night in Astana or Baku next fall?

I want United to get fourth. First, because I like LVG staying there as long as possible and the drama dividing the front office between LVG and Jose is probably bad for United in the long run.

You nailed the second part. Pep with a motivated City and all of their talent and resources have to be the favorites next year. I think the thing that could limit them the most would be some Europa magic.

That's a good point about LVG. If backing into 4th tips the balance toward keeping him over Mourinho (although I really have no clue if that would be the case), that is definitely more reason to hope United pulls it out.

I honestly don't know what they'd do if United get 4th...which I still wouldn't count on.

If they get 4th AND win the FA Cup, I'd expect them to stick with LVG. Thats not what I want to happen, but I think it gives Woodward enough reason in his mind to let LVG manage the final year of his contract.

I'm not enjoying this at all. Screw you Andy Carroll and screw you everyone at Manchester City for making me watch this match with baited breath.

Frustrating so far, West Ham dominated but only 1 goal on 4 or 5 great chances. Bit of tough luck too that the linesman called back the second goal. Probably the right call but really close.

Was the bus late because it was attacked or was it attacked after it was already late? Not that it matters much, but it would be the second time this year that United couldn't get to a game on time.

Already late huge huge crowds outside the ground, they were pushing through when people threw some bottles at it.

Who cares that United are absolute shit...we have a 18 and 20 year old to bail us out time and time again.
