Ride or die Spurs, but I'm not getting up at 4:45.
Supporters club already warned to only pull from their flasks outside the bar. Coyle's can open, but can't serve until 6am.

I know I'm excited for footy when I find myself humming "Glory, Glory, Man United" and I hate those pukes.

Got myself and both kids in owls gear, it's my daughter in the "my first Owls kit" onsie this year.

John the Tongan wearing the band for Spurs today...that's interesting considering he's the most likely on the squad to provoke someone to take a swing at them.

Are they pronouncing Dembele's name differently?

They are accenting the first syllable and not the second.

Oh come on Spurs. You dominate the game and then completely switch off for 10 seconds and are down 1-0.

That was the most Spurs goal I've ever seen.

That goal wasn't bad defending, it was on Bentleb's pass and then playing with a high line without Lloris behind to anchor.

Spurs have just fallen apart since the goal.

Jesus, they play like my rec league team played. The best team on the field, unless they give up a goal against the run of play, then it's all over.

Benteleb-Dier as a pivot against high pressure is....not good.  United look pretty hopeless on offense against a set defense.  But Spurs' midfield keeps gifting them turnovers and chances to break against an unsettled back four.

The buildup was a mistake, of course, so they were out of position (many defenders on the left defensive side and still not covered closely).
I meant that if Bentaleb defends closer on the wing and prohibits the cross, while Alderweireld would have turned himself around and had seen that Rooney is all alone without a defender, he (Alderweireld) had to stay in the middle, that would have been better defending. Yes, the first reaction in a back four, where you think the RB covers the middle (Rooney), too, is to help on the outside, but Alderweireld didn´t turn around a single time on such a wide open field, so that was bad defending. Goals are scored in the middle of the field was a cardinal rule, you cannot leave that so open.

So they were playing high, couldn't get back, and because of that they were out of position.

Which lead to a huge gap in the center that could have been covered if lLloris was healthy since he does that all the time.

Thanks!

I really want to see Alli this half, I didn't expect that I would want him to replace Benteleb.

United were very lucky to get the three points.  They created nothing all match.

If he can stay healthy all season (a big if) I think Smalling could emerge as an elite CB.  He is a butcher on the ball but a wall back there defensively.  For a big guy he is really quick and almost impossible to dribble past.

On the play where Smalling picked Chadli's pocket, Chadli should have shot the ball before pushing into Smalling.

A lot of almost chances, but they didn't pull the trigger. Anyway, at least that game is out of the way. Stoke at home and Leicester on the road the next two.

Also, Kyle Walker is the leading scorer in the EPL.

They just said 6 years ago Bournemouth was one defeat away from dropping out of the football league all together. That can happen? I thought there were like 12 levels?

League football refers to the Premier League, the Championship, League One and League Two.

They were relegated from League One in in 2008, finishing in 21st place, but that was because they had a 10 point deduction for entering administration. Without that, they would have finished in 15th.

The next season, in League Two, they finished in 21st, 9 points clear of relegation, but again, it was because they had a 17 point deduction from the start of the season for not adhering to terms for coming out of administration. They also agreed not to appeal that decision. Without that deduction, they would have finished in 10th place.

So while they were 3 leagues down, it wasn't solely because they were simply a horrible team.

Ighalo just posterized John Stones, improbable 2-1 lead for Watford now at Goodison - minutes after an excellent Barkley strike

Not 2 minutes later, Arouna Koné equalizes
