I’m rooting for the Bengals, but just barely, and I’m fine with either result. I think the Rams will win

I picked "Rooting for Cincy and think that they're going to win." Just something about that team -- they got down 18 points in a hostile environment and came back. The Rams are a good team but they're nothing special, and I think that Cincy will figure out a way to contend with the Rams' pass rush.

I can't see the Rams losing with their d line and Cincy's o-line issues.

I'm neutral-ish on the matchup - going into the weekend I was definitely rooting for whoever comes out of the NFC, but definitely feels like everyone I know is more excited about the Bengals (and what's more fun than rooting for an underdog when you're not personally invested?). I chose Rams Rams because I want to see Stafford get a ring and think he will, but I'm fine if the Bengals win. And if we get one more game that comes down to the last possession, I'll probably be at least partly pulling for whoever has it last to score even if it's Joe and co.

I mentioned this in the game thread, but it's such a relief to not hate one of the two teams. I can't really ever remember feeling this way about a Super Bowl, honestly. This is the least rooting interest I think I've ever had. But in a good way - I'm just going to be able to enjoy the game.

2002 Bucs/Raiders may be the last one for me.

It's such a relief to know I can watch the game and just enjoy whatever happens. I'm cheering for the Bengals, but only because they're the underdog.

Edit, I scanned back. The last time I didn't care about an outcome was

I am rooting for the Bengals, but I think the Rams will win, but I don't think it will be a blow out. The Rams are a very good, but not great team. They can make mistakes and they can be beaten.

I like both teams a lot. I am just hoping for a good game, for supply issues to clear up enough for PepsiCo to have a good Super Bowl selling period, and for the advertisements to be stellar.
Going into the playoffs I figured if the Pats couldn’t win I’d like it if the Bills, Bucs, Rams, Bengals, Eagles, or 49ers would win it. I thought I’d be pulling for the Bengals. If I had to pick a side it’s the Rams. Why? Because I love McVay and I feel like Stafford deserves a ring for having to carry the load in Detroit for all those years. But no matter who wins I’ll be happy. It’s been a really entertaining last 2 weeks for the playoffs. Let’s have more of that!

I agree that this will be relaxing and enjoyable. Not many SBs in my lifetime, which includes all of them, that I didn’t really care too much about the outcome. I’ll root for the Bengals. The Rams have the better team but I think the Bengals have the better QB so hard to pick a winner.

But it’s hilarious that the Rams traded all those picks to upgrade from Goff to Stafford - who most of us would rank where? Maybe 9th-12th best QB this year? - and....it was worth it.

I'm mostly neutral but it's a long day and a long game and a long run up and the notion that McVay won't piss me off sometime before the fourth quarter is unlikely.

The don't care angle for a lot of us is likely because Cincy isn't a team the Patriots have crossed paths with over the last two decades. Of the 16 AFC teams, they probably come in at like 15 or 16th (them or Cleveland, right? Maybe TEN?) on the list of most hated AFC opponents. The other non-Pats AFC Super Bowl teams in recent history have theen the Colts, Ravens, Steelers, Broncos and Chiefs. All teams were primary competition and rivals for the Patriots at one time or another.

The Bengals are the only AFC team the Pats have never faced in the playoffs.

The have played the Rams and that was fun. Ed: but all things being equal I’ll root for the AFC. Hell I even rooted for the Jets once. Never again though.

I'm definitely rooting for Cincy. I'm agnostic on the Rams. It would be cool to see Stafford win one.

I'll be watching from a hotel in Orlando.

Being a charter member of the Joey B fan club has me almost as worked up for this as if it were the Pats. I'm otherwise fine with the Rams; they are a likable enough team.

The Rams have been my "second" team since I was a wee lad back in the late 70s. I'm just so thankful they aren't playing the Pats like the last two times.

I'm rooting for the Bengals, but I'm still having a hard time believing a team that failed to beat the Browns twice has even made it this far.

Rooting for Sony to get another ring. I won't be heartbroken if he doesn't though. I think he will based on LAR DL vs. CIN OL.

I picked rooting for the Bengals, but I really don't care much. I just want a continuation of the good games we've seen so far. No throwbacks to the 1990s please.

I’d prefer the Rams not to win, as I have disdain for their approach to team-building (similar to the ~1996-2003 Miami/Florida Marlins). But, no strong rooting interest.

I can’t root for the Bengals simply based on the amount of money they potentially cost…A KC win on Sunday and Super Bowl win for them would have been huge for me.

Also, as a Dolphins fan, seeing Burrow in the Super Bowl is depressing, since the goal of the 2019 season was to obtain the #1 pick, then they went and F’d it up. Thanks Fitzpatrick.

I don’t particularly like the Rams at all, but it’s the lesser of two evils in this scenario. I voted for them to win as well, but that’s due to the rooting interest, I don’t really have conviction for that pick at the moment.

I pick the games vs. the spread every week with my son and his godfather (my best friend). We were all below .500 on the season. So clearly I have no basis to question the collective wisdom of the gambling community — the Rams are favored, so I assume a Rams win is the most likely result.

I’ll be rooting for the Bengals. Burrow is fun.

I'm rooting for the Rams essentially because I like Stafford, but man, that was a quality comeback by Cincinatti against KC. Have to respect that kind of toughness/fortitude, and it made me believe they'll pull the Super Bowl win off. Though they owe a big portion of their win to Mahomes shitting his pants (figuratively) in the second half.

I really had no ill will against that team, but wasn't alive for Stingley/the 70's rivalry. How about '99, Rams vs. Titans? Two pretty innocuous franchises.
I loved Steve McNair as a kid, and that Kevin Dyson stretch to the goal line still stings my memory.

Sure, and so did Cleveland… the last game was basically a scrimmage between backups, but in their first meeting in Cincinnati the Browns gave the Bengals their worst beating of the season.
The Lions pantsed the Patriots in 2018. As did the Jags. And Titans. None of them made the playoffs. Weird stuff happens in the NFL.

I root against LA (and NY) teams on principle as well.

Plus, if you can beat KC in KC, you should be able to handle the Rams and Matt Frigging Stafford on a neutral field.

There were more 49ers than Rams fans last week, and the stadium will be filled with VIPs staring at their phones. I think it’s pretty close to a neutral field.

That’s probably a solid prediction, I just thought @mwonow ’s post was kinda funny under the circumstances.

This NFL season has taught me to look at which team all the experts are picking and expect the opposite. So, congrats Bengals this looks like it will be your year...I guess.

Rooting-wise, I am hoping Stafford gets a ring after all those years in Detroit.

Funny thing is do they make the Rams use the visiting locker room (they won't of course)? But unlike the Tampa Bay one the Rams aren't the "home" team for the Super Bowl as it's the AFC's turn.

There are 2 "home" locker rooms in the stadium in addition to the visiting one. I would imagine the Rams keep their normal locker room and the Bengals will use the Chargers one.

LSU household here, therefore a Burrow household. It's nice having a non-Pats QB to actively root on.

That said, Joe is likely to be pounded into oblivion
