First, it's spelled Marcellas. I too would've defaulted to mobster royalty, Mr. Wallace, but he spells it differently.

Second, obligatory:
81745

Third, in his assessment of the pick, The Athletic's Dane Brugler was complimentary while also noting that "his instincts are spotty, and his finishing skills as a tackler need to be addressed." He further said that "Dial has the ball skills and burst that give him a chance to earn an NFL role, but his undisciplined spacing in coverage must improve to match up with NFL receivers. He could be an option for zone schemes." Obviously instincts can't be taught, but am I incorrect that they can be developed with practice against NFL talent and that finishing skills and spacing in coverage are things that can be taught with the right coaches?

There was some discussion in the draft thread about how he profiles pretty well as a FS. The undisciplined spacing, tackling ability and nose for the ball is actually perfect for that role. We'll see if that's the direction they go but it made a lot of sense.

I fear that as with the departure of Dante leaving us without an extraordinary ability to coach up marginal OLinemen, the departure of the family Belichick may leave us pining for the days of turning UDFA DBs into Pro Bowlers.
Isn't Brian the Safeties coach?

I'm not sure I want someone with finishing skills as a tackler than need to be addressed at FS, but hopefully he gets the coaching he needs to show off his potential.
