ESPN's been losing some good on air talent to competitors lately.  Nichols, Brian Kenny, Jim Rome, Pat Forde, Erin Andrews, and Michelle Beadle in the past few years just off the top of my head.  I'd be interested to know if similar talent pilfering is occurring behind the scenes with upper level executives and show runners/producers.  It'd be great if some creative types who understand how ESPN was built but recognize some of its flaws could turn around and use that knowledge to build some solid counterprogramming to ESPN.  It would probably take a while to create any sort of dent in the market share, but I'd be certainly willing to give someone else a shot at my viewership.

Used to work there...they obviously have their pick of talent, both from an anchor/reporter POV as well as an Insider (i.e., former athlete/coach POV).  For the most part, they don't have to overpay for those they consider replaceable and simply move on.

She comes from the Pedro Gomez School of Scripted Sportscasting. I've always had a really hard time following her content because he presentation is so stilted.

She may be a nice person but I won't miss her.

Wait, Jim Rome? Didn't they move him to ESPN 2 then cancel his show? He sucks. I can't believe that his radio program is rated so highly.

Watching her face - particularly her mouth - is an experience unto itself.

True story: the TV was on in the living room and I was in the kitchen. I thought an adult in a Charlie Brown movie was talking. Turned out to be a Rachel Nichols report.

I like Rachel Nichols, she's not a bad follow on Twitter and I'm happy to see the talent leaving ESPN. It's a reprehensible, self serving organization of hype and marketing.
