Holy shit, in the most surreal moment of 2014, ESPN, a subsidiary of the Disney Company, let Ray "alleged murderer" Lewis spent two minutes on an anti-snitching rant in regards to the allegations of Adrian Peterson abusing another one of his children.

Let that sink in. ESPN decided it would be good idea to have Ray Lewis say that the child's mother should have left Adrian Peterson be after discovering marks on her child's head instead of reporting it to the police.

It seemed at one point Steve Young was going to jump in but good old Ray gave him a death stare and continues on.

ESPN, the only network that deems it appropriate to have an alleged murderer comment on the criminal activities of other NFL players.

Isn't the irony in that Lewis beat the rap by snitching on his friends?

I saw that coming, and changed the channel. I'm not going to sit and listen to that bullshit, from that....person.

Busy few weeks for Ray.  First his mentee Ray Rice goes all Ray Lewis on his fiancee.  Now, AP's baby Momma breaks one of Ray's alleged golden rules.

I love that ESPN employs this guy.  Makes it much easier for me to ignore that channel.  I'll still tune in for games, but I am completely done with SportsCenter and their pre- and post-game shows.

Have not had the Ray Lewis media experience yet and from the looks of it I won't be making plans to do so.

When Roger Goodell is shaking his head and thinking "Ray Lewis isn't really self-aware, is he?" it's not a good sign ...

I believe that's what is referred to in the business as expert analysis. I understand that ESPN is now going to refer to Ray Ray as "NFL Criminal Activity Insider Ray Lewis"

I think the thing to watch as the season goes on is how many times Trent Dilfer and Steve Young awkwardly look at Ray Lewis or slowly back away.

Edit - Remember when Disney had Trent Dilfer say he was going to Disney World instead of Ray "Yea I Probably Killed Some Folks" Lewis?  Now Disney plays Trent Dilfer to awkwardly stare at Ray Lewis as he says ridiculous things.  I am not sure Dilfer is the game manager he use to be.

I thought Dilfer was pretty hands on with Lewis after last night's game and I kept expect Lewis to coldcock him.  Though, Dilfer towers over Lewis and looks pretty thick post-playing days.

Does anyone have a link to video of this?  How is this not on Deadspin et al?

Gotta love Roger "don't let facts get in the way of a great storyline" Goodell!

An interesting question is if what happened to Lewis in 2000 happened in 2014, how would it be treated differently? Would Lewis have gotten put on the non-injured reserve list? Would he have been suspended for a while? I definitly think that he would have been hit a lot harder now then he would have back then.

I"m watching this with the sound off and it looks like Ray Lewis is showing how to twist a man's head off his neck.  Now he's making everyone switch seats.

Quite odd to read that given how respectful Lewis was to Brady when they shook hands on the field after the Pats beat the Ravens in the 2011 AFC Championship, or when he said this.

He may have just passed A-Rod in the biggest tool from a local perspective.
I'd like to drag his statue around Costanza style, but he'd have Steve Smith kill me.

Ugh, I shouldn't do this, but comparing A-Rod and him is so, so unfair to A-Rod. A-Rod is just a socially awkward weirdo who's way out of touch with regular people. Ray Lewis is, to me, legitimately unhinged and was involved in a murder. True, no centaur paintings....that we know of.

The best part of this is apparently Ray doesn't even know the rules since he is 100% wrong on knocking the ball out of the hand of a quarterback:

"Honest to God, the first time we created something called a tuck rule is the only reason we know -- I'm just being honest -- the only reason we know who Tom Brady is, because of a tuck rule. There's no such thing as a tuck rule. If the ball is in your hand and I knock it out your hand, whether it's going backwards, forwards, lateral, sideways -- however it's coming out, that's a freakin' fumble. But guess what we created? We created a freakin' tuck rule. ... Man, there are certain rules that should not be allowed to be in this game of football."

Wait, so he thinks Refs just make up rules as the game goes on?

No, "Under the Hood" is actually a link to The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and he makes decisions based upon God's Law on the field only. Off the field - anything goes if you love Jesus.

I'll never forget those critical tuck rule calls in Super Bowls 36, 38 and 39. I even named my son Tuck Brady Zeppelin in honor of either the 7th or 8th time it saved Tom's ass.

It is unfathomable to me that he still has a job at ESPN.

You assholes.  I assumed the thread bump was to announce that he won't be back next season.

Yeah.  Lots of sports "analysts" fall into this category but he has to be near the top.
