deep inside Guido territory
Pros: He aligns as an edge defender in the Crimson tide hybrid scheme. In the passing game, his production has superseded his skill set. Shows very good strength and pop in his hands to disengage and close on the QB. In the run game he is heavy at the point of attack. Has very good hand placement and is very difficult to move vertically. He's stronger and more powerful than he is explosive. As a result some of his movements are slow twitch. On 3rd down his skill set would be maximized by rushing him only from a 3 point stance. His skill set doesn't project well as a core special teamer and this player would struggle in space at the next level.

Cons: He's late off the ball and lacks the fast twitch to be an elite LB at the next level. Not dynamic athlete by any stretch and will struggle to do the diverse things an elite EDGE defender doesn't in the NFL. His effort is inconsistent. He also has some stiffness in his hips and may struggle as a tackler in the open field. Lacks good lateral agility and closing quickness to get to the QB.

Lol we all fretted about the offensive weapons and it’s three defenders to start. Attaboy, Bill, never change.

Wasn’t Hightower described a lot the same coming out? Not explosive/fast twitch, etc?

Maybe, but when it's a kid from Alabama I have some trust in the relationship with Saban.
I did too until Cyrus Jones ruined it for me. But I like this guy. Seems like a solid situational LB.

I know nfl.com made the KVN comp, but I always saw him closer to Nink. 6'2, 260# edge setter who wins with strength and his hands. He's got some athleticism but he's not as good in space as KVN. But Jennings is a really solid player. Less upside than the other NE picks, but Jennings is good.

I eliminated Jennings because of athletic and injury concerns. Here are my notes on him. I have an edit because I had the good fortune of discussing Jennings with our own powerhouse, @Brand Name.

Jennings is going to feast against mediocre offensive-linemen. I do worry that he get's stonewalled by the better and more technically refined OLs though.
