He has also moved up 22 spots (38 to 16) in the priority list for the Korn Ferry tour graduates. The reshuffle occurs after the RSM on Nov 24. That should help him get into more events he wants to play.

...and we’re back at the Bermuda Championship where Rob is on fire, -5 through 6 to grab a very early share of the lead.

Poor back 9 followed by a good front nine get him in at -1 for the day. He's currently in a long tie for 8th at -8.

Really needs to find a way to get himself a 5 under par weekend (or better0, get himself a top 15, or top 10, and it really is a substantial payday, and would likely change pretty substantially his order when the reset comes

Argh, a 7 on the par 5 2nd, including a couple shots in a row from fairway bunker (not sure if same one), and a 3 putt to finish.

His par 5 numbers have to be near the bottom of the tour

-1 through 4 holes today and currently tied for 30th at -7. -9 would have him at T20, so it's pretty densely packed right now.

Brendon Todd went into today with the lead and after a par on 1 has birdied the next 7 holes. -7 thru 8. Geez.

Sounds like a great question for the hopeful AMA with Rob. I find it amazing (in a good way) how many strangers are pulling for a guy we probably wouldn't recognize if we were paired up with him on the weekend at our local club. I put myself right at the front of that list....

I just saw that David Ortiz was caddying for Rob this week and I thought it was great that he would do that since I knew Rob was such a huge Boston sports fan and it meant that Papi was feeling better.

Then I found out that it isn't that David Ortiz. It is the same guy that was part of the controversy with Kuchar last year though so it is pretty cool that he gets the chance to get a good check again this year, hopefully better as I'm sure Rob wouldn't stiff him. He did make $50k last year as Kuchar bowed to pressure and paid him.

That would be awesome. I have no problem rooting for hometown heroes in any en devour so count me high on that list as well!

They probably just get workout in and then just kind of hangout. The tournament that Tiger won in Japan a few weeks ago had one day washed out and a story came that Tiger, JT and some of the other players went out to a movie and then got stuck in a Dominoes when the street flooded for a bit. Riveting stuff.

Oh man I once had to leave a city on a construction truck due to flooding, being stuck in a Domino's does seem way better to be honest. Thanks for that tidbit :)

-2 through 8, made an 84 foot eagle putt on 15.

Last start for about 2 months. He is 110 on the FedEx Cup list, be nice to have a real high finish and bank some points.

Started on the back 9 and double bogeyed 13. 8 pars.

I spoke to Rob on Saturday night, and he said he was definitely willing to do a chat with us for an hour or so if folks are interested. I have no idea how to set it up, I know he'd probably prefer to do a video chat if it can be done, but we could maybe also ask him questions through the site and have him type answers, etc. He's got about 2 months off now, so I figure sometime before or after Christmas would probably make the most sense.

Death,

I would love to do a chat with Rob but I'm not sure how to do it in video. If everyone wants, we can start another thread where we can ask questions and he can answer them when he has the time. Unless someone smarter than me can record a skype session where they read him the questions and he answers them?

...and we’re back!

Rob just made an eagle on 18 to wrap up round 1 of the Sony Open in Hawaii with an even par 70, T32.

He likes the 18th, eagled it this morning to finish round 1, and just birdied it in round 2 to get to -3 and T10. -5 his last 10 holes.

Has a 22 footer for eagle on 9, his last hole of the day. Would get him into a share of the lead.

edit: missed it but in at -5 and T3. Played 19 bogey free holes today at -7, good stuff. -4 on the 3 par 5’s he played, feel like par 5 scoring has always been a bugaboo of his do a nice day there.

Rob just did everything right today that typically plagued him.

He didn’t miss any putts inside 7’ - he sunk one long one, and he finished the round strong.

Here is hoping for a strong weekend.

Watched him on 18 (edit: on his 18th, the 9th hole.)

My daughter noticed me taking an interest and asked me “is that one of your internet friends?” Told her no, he’s a friend of an Internet friend. (Was rewarded with a strange look.)

Rooting hard for Rob.

Just hung with his brother. Darkness was timed nice on thursday. Wasn't playing good, got to regroup and then play the relatively easy par 5. His brother wanted to know what the winners share was cuz I told him to tease the saints and over last week and that didn't go well. Need a good weekend, but I believe he's already qualified for the next 4 events. Gonna be playing a lot this month.

Looks like Rob is going to end up in a tie for around 23rd, which should net him about 60k and 35 fedex points. Not a bad start to the calendar year. Would be nice to get about 10-15 more of those this season.
