I'm fine with giving wibi some flexibility here, since he inherited a terrible team and we weren't 100% clear on the rules, but I'll be pretty annoyed if a top offensive team loses their kicker before the supplemental draft and someone who decides to wait backs into a guy who's in a crazy good position to have a good year.
Say Gostkowski get's injured in preseason. Anyone who waits is going to jump all over the guy they get to take his place. That could happen at any position, but if I'm a team who doesn't have a kicker, do I want one of the remaining guys left from the scrap heap or do I want to wait and see if someone better pops up? At worst, I'm still going to get one of those guys from the scrap heap.

You have a new team, we're willing to give you more flexibility on this than anyone else, so do what you want.
Maybe a good idea for next year: You don't have to take a P, K, whatever position to fill out your roster during the regular draft, but if you have an empty position, you have to fill those before taking anyone else in the supplemental draft. So you could have pick #1 in the supplemental draft, have some stud HB or CB lined up that pops up out of nowhere in preseason, but you can't take him because you didn't take a punter in the last round of the regular draft.

Back-to-back undrafted rookies? Who am I, ESC? But I need a kicker, and let's face it - most of them are undrafted as it is.
The Ravens select K Chris Boswell, Houston Texans / Rice Owls
Boswell had a terrific career at Rice, finishing with 13 FGs of 50+ yards, which I believe more than doubled the next-highest active player. He is second in Rice history in points, and showed a big leg on kickoffs as well. He's also clutch - he hit 4 FG against Kansas, include a 56-yarder and a 45-yarder as time expired, and hit the above ridiculous onside kick to give Rice a chance to beat Houston in a game it ultimately lost. He was widely considered the #1 kicker prospect in the draft, and while he didn't get drafted he's in a pretty good situation in his hometown Houston, if he can wrest the job from the uninspiring incumbent.
I've basically had this pick planned out since I took the octogenarian I had last season. Finally have a Rice guy, and hopefully one who can nail down this spot for years.

Elcab Dolphins will take DE Cory Redding
Cory Bartholomew Redding is old (33), but we need some depth at DE and he won't have to play a ton of snaps with Michael Johnson and Cam Heyward entrenched as starters.

Lots of different directions the Patriots wanted to go with this pick. I'd like to add more depth at certain positions but I think there will be a few more players available if/when we do the supplemental draft.

Brockenstein stands 6'7" and 245 lbs. He's basically a carbon copy of our current QB Foles only he's more athletic and has a stronger arm. I felt having a backup QB was an essential position to fill. Brock essentially gives me a plug n' play replacement should Foles go down. He was considered extremely raw coming out of college but was still picked with the 88th overall pick due to his remarkable abilities. He's had 2 seasons to learn under the Forehead and has made huge strides and vast improvements in his game. During OTA's he was cited as being deadly accurate with the deep ball. I think this kid has a bright future and provides me with a seamless transition should he need to be called upon.

Thanks SSF. If he was any younger, I'm sure he would've been long gone. I was considering him and Mike DeVito last round, so I was happy to see Redding was still on the board here.
He isn't sexy, but he can be a solid backup DE who is good against the run while also mixing in a couple sacks (4.5 last year). He's also pretty durable, playing in 13-16 games a season every year he's been in the league outside of his rookie year.
