Really like the Linder pick DoDM. I was going back and forth between him and Omameh for my last pick. They both had similar workout numbers and measurables. Went with my gut and grabbed Omameh. I think Linder is extremely good value here though.

Thanks Eck. Obviously draft position isn't the be all end all but to get a guy that was drafted one pick later than Turner (drafted 5 rounds ago) and four picks after Watt (2 rounds ago) feels like pretty good value. I like both of those guys better than Linder but I think I like his value here more.

Our boards are looking pretty similar, as I'm guessing is true for a lot of people in this draft. Really dependent now on just which positions people are targeting.

The Denver Broncos will try to add some depth to their offensive line with the selection of...

Tyler Polumbus, OT

As far as I can tell, most Washington DC football fans hate him, but he has shown signs of improvement over the past few years, and at 29 he figures to start at right tackle for the Washington DC football team.  If he continues to show even the slightest improvement in 2014 (which I expect with a hopefully more mobile RGIII than last season), I think I'll be very happy with him as a backup and maybe I could even pencil him in as my starting RT.

Alright fellow owners, listen up! GET YOUR SHITS TOGETHER. Seriously, I want everyone to poop at the same time, because you're all taking a collective DUMP on this draft right now.
Too many skipped picks, too many guys needing to be reminded they're on the clock, and too many shitty draft picks.  LET'S GO PEOPLE! Don't ya go dyin' on me! I plan on winning this imaginary league next year.

On the clock:  Turrable- runs out at 11:23am. Your clock management makes me  :barf: .

On deck: SeoulSoxFan. Back to the start of the draft, where Russell Wilson and company continue to enjoy the #1 pick. Christian Ponder says hi  :smithicide:

Still in need of picks:

:natstown: asNot :natstown: asdin: 2 picks needed. Get it together Rip Van Winkle. Wake up over there, will ya? Although, after Brock Coyle and Geno Smith, maybe you're busy searching for a new GM.

SPDougie:  Just wondering, are you interested in stopping the run this year? No? Okay, carry on.  :dumbcat:

Edit: Sent PM's to SSF (to give him a heads up it's almost his turn), WasNotWasdin and SPDougie to try to keep things moving along.

Whoops. Almost forgot you, BSJ!  You still need to make a pick too.

Wouldn't want you to forget that we needed you to continue your Jerry Jones-like offseason by adding yet another player who won't have any impact!   :whaaaat:

Well, it's good thing the Steelers still have skin in the game and am prepared when our turn comes up.

Because Seoul will be stocking another underrated skill player and give him a dependable weapon for Mr. Russell "Man Muscle" Wilson.

Steelers stealthily select:

TE Tim Wright

First some basics:
  • Age 24
  • Converted WR, UDFA in 2013
  • 6' 4", 240 lbs
  • 4.65s 40-yd
  • 7.27 3-cone
  • 9' 10" broad, 36" vertical
What he did in his rookie year (TE ranking if he were on the Past last year):
  • 12th in catches w/ 54 (1st)
  • 16th in yards w/ 571 (2nd)
  • 5 touchdowns (1st)
  • 26th in PFF pass rating w/ +1.9 (2nd)
  • 24th in passes caught w/ 75% (1st)
  • 1st in deep pass catch rating w/ 50+ targets w/ 80% (1st)
Here's what Greg Cosell said about Wright last year:

He's getting more and more snaps as kind of a hybrid tight end/wide receiver. He's got excellent potential as I see it as a movement receiving tight end because of his size and length.I think that he's a guy I would expect, as they move forward, can become a bigger factor in what they do. Glennon was clearly comfortable throwing him the ball.

Did you catch that word "hybrid"? Yeah, because flat out Tim Wright can catch the ball:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ-SiDnRG3A

He blows at run blocking (he was a WR after all), but we already have a giant of an OL and Fleener for that. Wright is your very definition of a "move" TE who will play between 20-20.

Like our resident red zone specialist Fauria, Wright is in a crowded situation with Austin Seferian-Jenkins coming on board with the RL Bucs. However, it's well-known that 1st year TEs rarely make a big impact, and Wright is an emerging talent that could see an even bigger production as a 2nd year guy.

Lovie Smith agrees:

Tim is a guy I should have talked about more because he's another guy that does something well it seems like every day," Smith said according to the official team website. "Nowadays, with the emergence of the passing game and you've got to be able to pass to win ... the matchups ... tight end versus safety, tight end versus linebacker, we have a good matchup with Tim Wright. He of course can do things in-line, but he can split out, he can run all of the passing tree, he's natural moving out and running routes too. I'm very pleased with him and all he's done since Day One."

Here's another thought in going with Wright, whom I almost picked the last time around. Russell is immaculately accurate. We hate losing out on Stills and his amazing catch rate, but TY can still stretch the field and we have a ton of "good hands" targets who can dominate the short to intermediate routes:
  • WR TY Hilton
  • WR Austin Pettis
  • RB CJ Spiller
  • FB/RB/TE Marcel Reece
  • TE Coby Fleener
  • TE Tim Wright
  • TE Joseph Fauria

Our WR/TE group is not a spectacular by any measure (although I'm looking for a Josh Boyce breakout) but combined with our running backs this is a very versatile group that can run as well as pass in any situation. Oh, and guess who ran the most play-action in the league last year?

Russell Wilson (says hi with his 112.3 PA NFL rating in PA).

DM PM'd.

Edit: To me being able to run both pass/run is critical in our tough AFCN with all the incredible D-line play from our opposition. By beefing up the line, keeping the best RB group in the league, and finding dependable targets seem to be the best counter in reducing the number of 3rd-longs and reduce turnovers.

Carmine's closet
The Necks select Toby Gerhart

Gerhart is a well-rounded RB that can run, catch, and block. He's older for a RB, but doesn't have the same kind of wear as the average 27 YO RB. We didn't really want a true fullback (not enough value/snaps), but there are times we will want to run fullback style plays (like two and three back pistol sets/Spider 2 Y Banana), and we think Gerhart's size and skill set can do that in addition to 3-down RB stuff.

For my makeup pick give me

Garrett Graham, TE

According to the chart on my ipad he seems available, although I cannot figure out why so I will gladly take the starting tight end on a team that will have a new QB who needs a binkie. He and Gresham will make a nice pair at the TE Position

RO's clock has expired, yes?

Edit:  Shit, I need some more time anyways - was all set to draft Mo Alexander until I realized Laddie grabbed him as Maurice Alexander.

The Seattle Seahawks belatedly select Dekoda Watson, OLB.  While my LBs are decent, I could use some depth at that position and I think he'll help fill in quite nicely.

I'll take Arthur Moats, LB.   The real life Steelers signed Moats for his versatility, and that's exactly what we're looking for in a backup LB.  With the majority of promising rookies already snapped up, we're going to go more conservative here and hope that the 5th year player will provide more value than a late round flyer with upside, but who may not make the final 53 man roster.

Edit:  Baka was PM'd at the time of the selection.

Sorry for the delay.  Can't really do this on an iPad so I have to do it on my computer.

The Jets need an upgrade at the 2nd TE position and we pick TE Arthur Lynch.  Pitta is not a great blocker so we need somebody that can be more of an in-line blocker but can also catch passes.  Will Yeatman is more of a OL now, so Lynch will take over for him.  Lynch flashed some skills in the passing game, but his strength is more of a blocking TE.  He's a competitive guy and a team captain, so he'll bring some toughness to the roster as well.

baka's clock is up. I sent Was not Wasdin a PM about an hour ago so he knows he's on the clock, but I'm not sure if he's able to get back into the draft at this point due to his schedule.

Baka has an hour left.

Baka's time is up.

WNW has been skipped twice and is up after that.

dylanmarsh is on deck after WNW.

All 3 have been PM'd.

Edit: Yeah... the clocks up now. I can't math...

Edit2: Fixed all the PM's. None of them had been read yet.

dylanmarsh's Cardinals select Taylor Hart DT/DE, Oregon - Philadelphia Eagles

Hart is big and versatile. Can play inside or outside. His game is strength not speed. Hey, if Chip Kelly likes him he must be pretty good.

MSF is asking to be skipped.

Laddie PM'd.

Morning wrapup:

Spreadsheet updated through Turrable's pick above with dylanmarsh's pick of Taylor Hart at DE

Picks outstanding:
bakahump - 1 pick
WNW - 3 picks
MSF - 1 pick (skipped per his request last night)

CaptainLaddie is on the clock and was PM'd as of 11:35PM putting his clock up at 1:35PM eastern.
OFT is on deck.

I didn't PM anyone since it looks like Eck took care of that late last night. I also don't want to confuse Al's ghost with PM's about being on deck.  He might pick 3 WRs in a row before its actually his turn.

At a bar getting drunker with T4peters and his girl.

I think Brad Nortman, Punter, Carolina, will make a weakness into a strength.

Finally, a pick! And done at the bar, nonetheless. Well done, good sir  :bravo:

I sent SN a PM to let him know he's on the clock, just in case you weren't able to.

Looking to add RB depth, and willing to take a bit of a gamble to do so. The Ravens select RB Isaiah Crowell, Alabama State / Browns.

Three years ago, Crowell was a five-star recruit for Georgia, and he excelled his freshman year (see above), running for 850 yards and winning SEC Freshman of the Year. Two years ago, Crowell was arrested for weapons charges and dismissed from UGA. He enrolled in Alabama State, where he predictably steamrolled the weak SWAC (6.6 YPC, 1121 yards, and 15 TDs in 2013) and left after his junior year. The off-field issues and coachability questions led to him going undrafted, but the talent is still there and he's just 21. I think the reward outweighs the significant risk here - Crowell was Waldman's #1 RB, to give one indication of his ability. His vision, speed, and power are terrific, but can he keep his nose clean? If so, the Ravens have a steal; if not, he's gone.

EDIT: PBDWake PM'd.
