This thread is to track how your team is doing, and to make fun of each other's squads on an on-going basis.

I had a pretty good week 1, with Kaepernick (27 of 39, 412 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs) going nuts behind a solid O-line performance (+3.6 PFF rating). My skill players (combined -0.9) didn't have a great week, and Jacoby Jones' injury further depleted my squad, but the O had a good week in general. D was shakier, with a lousy secondary performance (-5.2) behind a solid front-7 (6.8). Michael Koenen (5.4), my P, also had an outstanding week.

Week 2 ... yikes. Live by the 49ers offense, die by the 49ers offense, as Kaepernick, Anthony Davis, and Boone combined for a -9.6. PFF isn't done tallying all the games yet, but it's pretty safe to say I lost this one. One positive sign was LT Anthony Castonzo, who struggled week 1 (-3.7), had a terrific week 2 (4.6) against a good Miami pass rush.

Hoping to get through the next few weeks, until Coples, Irvin, Gilmore, and Crabtree (and Jones, now) get back. If I can tread water until that point, that's a big talent infusion.

I'll start with our defense through two weeks:

Defensive Front
Charles Johnson (defensive end) - He got after the QB recording 4 hurries and a sack in week 1, and 3 hurries in week 2. Not his finest performance in week 2, but not terrible either.

Carlos Dunlap (defensive end) - Plays tonight, but was graded out as a +3 by PFF in week 1. Despite 2 QB hurries and a QB hit, it was his run stopping (+2.4) that carried his score. Nice.

Kyle Williams (defensive tackle) - 3 QB hurries and a QB sack against Tom Brady in week 1. A +3.6 in week 2 with a strong +4 against the run (2 QB hurries).

Glenn Dorsey (defensive tackle) - Didn't get a ton of burn in week 1, but earned his way into the lineup in week 2 against Seattle. Put up a +1.9 (with +1.5 coming against the run) and recorded a sack.

David Bass Jr (DE/DT) - Rookie. got no burn.

GradeA-
Three sacks, 14 hurries, a QB hit, and Dunlap has a good opportunity to get some pressure on a poor Pittsburgh offensive line tonight. How were they against the run? +6.2. These four were scary good.

Linebackers
Patrick Willis (MLB) - Did what he usually does. +1.5 against the run, +.9 against the pass. Puts him on pace to be one of the best coverage/run stopping linebackers in football. Again.

Arthur Brown (OLB) - Didn't get a lot of burn for the Ravens the last few weeks. Graded out above average in week 1, but was in 6 snaps. They don't have week 2 numbers for this game up on PFF yet, but he played limited action. Still, he did get half a sack and a QB hit.

Manny Lawson (OLB) - 1 QB hurry, poor against the run, below average rushing the QB. He's done decent in coverage, though, which is a nice little surprise. I expect these numbers to flip-flop. In the meantime, not great.

Grade: B-/C+
Willis was solid. Brown got little burn, but was solid when on the field and Lawson was below average. Will no more about them in another few weeks.

Secondary
Lardarius Webb (corner back) - No numbers up for his week 2 game, but he did record 9 tackles, second most on the team. +1.6 overall for week 1, we'll see how they grade him for week 2 and readdress.

Xavier Rhodes (corner back) - About what you'd expect out of a talented first round corner back. Inconsistent. -1.2 in pass coverage in week 1, +1.6 in pass coverage in week 2. He'll have his ups and downs, but we think he'll stabilize.

Richard Marshall (cornerback) - Tough going against a good Houston squad in week 1 (-1.7 in coverage), and PFF doesn't have the Chargers game up yet. Don't see him in the boxscore, so he may not have gotten a ton of burn. We'll readdress later.

Chris Clemons (free safety) - He's building off a great year last year with another solid start this year. +3.2 overall, very good in coverage, good against the run. He's playing like a top 5 safety right now.

John Cyprien (Strong safety) - Another rookie in the secondary. Graded out below average last week against a decent KC offense, and they don't have the game up for this week. He did record 8 tackles this week, though, so I'd bet he had a better impact than last week. We'll readdress later.

Grade: B-/Incomplete
3 of the 5 guys back here don't have a PFF grade. If I'm forced to grade them, I'd say A-/B-/C-/A/C in the order listed above. 2 really good, 1 OK, 2 below average.

Overall Grade: B/B-
Without knowing all the scores, it's hard to say exactly how good the defense is. I think, based on stats and individual numbers, the defense is pretty good. If this were a real team, these guys would be pretty scary. The front 4 is ferocious and would do wonders for making the linebackers look good and secondary look very good. When the grades for week 2 come out, I'll edit this post accordingly.

Little less detail about our offense, mainly because it sucks and I don't want to talk about it.

Quarterback
Tyler Wilson/Blaine Gabbert/Ryan Fitzpatrick - Why don't you go fuck yourself?
Grade: Eat Shit

Running Back
Demarco Murray / Knowshon Mereno - Not terrible. Got some TD's, looked good catching the ball. Can they be the workhorses this team needs on offense? Probably not.
Grade: B

Wide Receivers
Dwayne Bowe / Greg Jennings / Alrick Robinson - Not good.
Grade: C

Tight Ends
Travis Kelce / Jacob Tamme - Hard to tell when they don't see the field.
Grade: D

Line
Michael Roos / Chad Rinehart / Gino Gradkowski / Jon Asamoah / Cordy Glenn - Roos/Glenn are 2 of the top 4 graded tackles in PFF right now. Rinehart's been good. Asamoah has been hurt, but we expect him to come back and be good. We thought the line would be good, and by the end of the year they may exceed expectation. That's very good news for a very bad offense.
Grade: B+

Overall Grade: Dog Poop

Tamme lost his job when Welker signed and he became redundant. Kelce is hurt but looks to come back next week. Bowe and Jennings had a much better week 2. Our O Line might finish the season with the highest pff score.

I'll just highlight three pleasant surprises and then three unpleasant ones.

Up

1. Jason Kelce - The smart, tough, and mobile C is looking like a natural fit in the Chip Kelly offense.  +6.6 PFF rating after two weeks.
2. Demario Davis - Looks like the real deal as the playmaker in the center of the Jets D.  +3.9 PFF rating after two weeks, popped out to me on a lot of plays in the Pats game.
3. Steve McClendon - Was dominating at times in the middle of the Steelers DL, so far so good as Casey Hampton's replacement.  +3.2 PFF grade after one week.

Down

1. Mitchell Schwartz - Got raped by Cam Wake and Company during Week 1, giving up three sacks and earning an outstandingly bad -5.6 PFF rating.
2. Kendall Reyes - Has been a general non-factor and generated zero push in two straight games, with five tackles, one hurry, and a -3.7 PFF rating.
3. My corners - Reports are that Keenan Lewis has been underwhelming in New Orleans and Cortez Allen hasn't seen the field yet.

Yeah, let's look at our offense:

QB:

Flacco:  PFF rating:  Crappy.  NFL Rating:  Crappy.  QBR:  Crappy.
Cousins:  Stuck behind a rusty gimp.

RB:

Stephens-Howling:  Torn ACL
Leveon Bell:  Out four weeks with a foot.
LeGarrett Blount:  Fat and slow.

WR:

Jeffery:  Good first game, crappy second.
Brandon Gibson:  Hey, Phins Insider gave him the game ball for week 1!
http://www.thephinsider.com/2013/9/10/4713320/week-1-game-ball-brandon-gibson
DeAndre Hopkins:  Silent in game 1, but stepped up in week 2.  Yay.

TE:

Vernon Davis:  Good first game, held in check last night.
Niles Paul:  Racking up personal fouls on the Redskins' punt team.

We might win the Manziel Marathon.

Offense (What I thought was my strong side):

QB: Eli Manning PFF +2.8 Rank 8th
Who is the real Eli? League leading 7 interceptions and a horrific NFL rating of 75.9, while being second in the league in yards passing (812), 5th in TDs (5), and 5th in Yards/Attempt (8.9). The Giants are 0-2 but I think that's more a case of their defense giving up a league leading 77 points (more on that later, probably partially Eli's fault).

RB: David Wilson -3.1, 50th; Roy Helu +0.5, 19th; Johnathan Franklin DNP
David Wilson's fumbling problems have put a damper on what I thought would be a terrific running game for my team. Helu has stepped up well as a great backup but we could use Wilson and his 'breakout year.'

WR: Mike Wallace 0.0, 53rd; Danny Amedola +3.8, 6th; Stedman Bailey DNP
When Mike Wallace is finally used he goes out and puts up 9 rec 115 yds 1 TD. There's a 0% chance Eli doesn't air it out to Wallace at least 10 times per game in my offense. Amendola looked great in week 1 but as we all know the groin injury has benched him for the foreseeable future. Stedman Bailey probably would look like Aaron Dobson in Week 2.

TE: Tony Gonzalez -1.0, 31st; Delanie Walker -1.6, 37th
Tony G takes his hits in Run and Pass blocking at -.9. I think in my offense with Wilson struggling he'd be running routes 95% of the time and hopefully putting up closer to Hakeem Nicks numbers. Delanie was hurt for most of the preseason and struggled in run blocking week 1, but he looked much better in Week 2.

OL: Eugene Monroe -2.3, 49th (1 game); Andy Levitre -1.1, 40th; Dominic Raiola 0.6, 13th (1G); Uche Nwaneri 0.0, 30th (1G); Charles Brown -0.6, 35th
Tough to tell with this group as 3 out of the 5 are all marked down for only 1 game. Monroe & Uche have struggled in the run game while Levitre and Brown's struggles have come in the passing game. I think Brown would rank a little higher on the right side, but for now tough to really give these guys a grade.

Overall: C+
Maybe Eli could have pulled at least one win out of his ass, although his 7 picks have been the reason his defense has probably struggled so much. He's thrown 1 pick 6 (though wasn't entirely his fault), David Wilson has had one fumble 6, and he has constantly put his defense in tough field position.
I think this team would be 1-1 at this point only because I would have traveled to Seahawk nation last night and gone up against a Gronk less Vick who doesn't have the Chip Kelly offense to reinvent his career.

Negative ratings

Hynoski: -1.1

Brockers: 2.4
Keuchly: 0.7
Trevathan: 0.9
J. Robinson: 1.4
H. Smith: 2.8

K. Geathers: -0.8
Datone Jones: -3.2
Werner: -3.0
A. Ayers: -0.3
DRC: -0.1
M. Kendricks: -10.1 - Didn't think he was anywhere near this bad

Logan Ryan with the 0.0

Tucker: 4.0
Mine and SSF's homie Ryan Allen: -0.3

REALLY young team trying to find itself right now. Defense still looks damn good. Hopefully some of my offense will see the field...

I don't have PFF access either, but I'll just give a general review of what I can figure out

QB - Matt Flynn (sitting behind yet another young QB)
QB - Michael Vick (running the Kelly offense pretty damn well)
RB - Alfred Morris (6.1 YPC, 8th in rushing yards)
RB - Ronnie Brown (limited PT as 3rd down guy)
WR - Sidney Rice (Total non-factor in the passing game, although he let a Niner safety concuss himself against him)
WR - Denarius Moore (see Rice, Sidney except for the concussing part)
WR - Chris Givens (7 catches over two games and seems to be a little bit better than Rice/Moore)
TE - Rob Gronkowski (wuss won't take the field)
TE - Scott Chandler (not much of a factor)
TE - Luke Willson (has hardly played)

OL - Carpenter has played fairly well from what I've seen in limited playing time.  Unger had two bad penalties last night, which was uncharacteristic of him.  Don't know about any of the rest.

Defense - Antoine Winfield retired.  Tharold Simon is on PUP, Okafor, Gholston haven't played, Ian Williams got hurt last night, Chancellor is his normal solid self, Thurmond has been playing great, nothing on the rest.

Our line has 2 of the top 10 guards so far by PFF, and 2 of the top 10 tackles. Regardless of our center I think we're A- here given how they have performed so far this year.

Our RBs? 5th best according to PFF and tied for 6th best.

WRs? 22nd, 76th, and part-timer. Bowe isn't as bad as his rating right now.

TEs: Didn't play

We still have 2 good WR's a fantastic line, and 2 good RB's. Yeah, our QB sucks but so far so good on the line and at least our RBs.

The best part is when we built our line we looked for run movers - our right side has two of them Rinehart and Glenn.

QB: Matt Ryan - Playing pretty well
RB: Frank Gore has been bad.  Lattimore is on the NFI list. Michael Robinson was cut. Jeff Demps might start playing this week.
WR: Boldin was great when not covered by Sherman. Lloyd retired. Cribbs was cut by the Raiders. Salas and Toon haven't seen the field.
TE: Finley's been playing well while hurt. So at least there's that. Hooman blocks.
OL: Fragel is on the Bengals practice squad.

DL: They are clogging up the middle and Mathis is still getting sacks off the edge.
LB: Johnson and Brown are doing their thing and cleaning up.  Thomas was waived by the Saints and Raiders, whoops.
DB: Routt is a FA. Dowling was cut. Browner is hurt. My safeties are playing well, which they need to do since I don't have any competent CBs.  Luckliy my pass rush should is decent.

ST: My kickers can kick the ball.

This is kind of what you get when you take no one who can grow a mustache.

EDIT: Oh, and no PFF access for me, but I'm gonna guess that with Cruz, Smith and Wright, RFP Tom Brady has 40 TD passes and isn't being criticized for his body language.

A Scud Away from Hell
Report on Seoul Steelers after week 2. All rankings via PFF in parenthesis (min. 25% snaps):

OFFENSE: C-
  • QB, Wilson (1.1, #17): subpar start, but can't complain about having this guy as my QB of today & future
  • RB1, CJ Spiller (-2.8, #45): terrible start for Spiller, but against 2 stout D's in Pats & Bucs. Plus, Buffalo still haven't figured out how to use him correctly, often running him right between the tackles. Thanks guys!
  • RB2, Ben Tate (1.3, #15): only 43 snaps through the first 2 games, but he's very much a high-upside 2nd back. May replace Foster as the featured back later in the year.
  • FB, Marcel Reece (0.9, #9): Reece's stats really haven't shown up much all pre-season and first 2 games, but he's vital to everything Oakland does. Also signed a 3-year extension (dammit)
  • TE, Coby Fleener (0.3, #22): much better game vs Phins (-1.3 vs Oakland, +1.6 vs Miami). Still slow as molasses in the open field.
  • WR1, TY Hilton (0.7, #43): also showed flashes in both games. He'll have a monster game soon - he's for real, folks.
  • WR2, Kenny Stills (0.5, #47): a bit disappointed in his game so far after an awesome pre-season. Particularly not a good showing vs. Tampa but let's remember that he's still a rookie and shows great potential
  • WR3, Josh Boyce (INC): who? I'm holding my breath until game 8+
  • LT, Tyron Smith (1.8, #25): not rated as high as he played, IMHO. Completely manhandled his assignments in both games, often being left out in an island without any help. Cut down on the penalties a bit (2 vs. Dallas) and he's golden
  • LG, Amini Silatolu (0.4, #29): iffy in pre-season, floating above water so far. Can't complain as this could have been a black hole in the line
  • C, Ted Larsen (INC): just 1 snap in game 1. This is an area for improvement for sure in 2014
  • RG, Jordan Mills (INC): may make his season debut this Thursday. So far reports are good coming out of Bears camp
  • RT, Kelechi Osemele: (-4.4, #62): Osemele is actually playing LG for the Ravens and it's been underwhelming at best to an utter disaster at worst. Still he's young and hoping he'll get better with more experience at the guard position.
Overall, statistically a mediocre performance. The OL is of grave concern with subpar performances across the line except Smith. The CJ Spiller is being used still is dumbfounding, and so is Reece -- he's being used purely as a blocker with no real offensive touches. The Hilton/Stills/Fleener combo is a very young, and very exciting bunch however.

DEFENSE: C+
  • DE1, Derek Wolfe (-2.7, #37): the pre-season injury must be still affecting him, as he has lost his push off the edge.
  • DE2, Alex Carrington (-4.3, #39): his inability to set the edge and contain on rushes is a real problem
  • DT, Akiem Hicks (-0.3, #24): still adjusting to his new responsibilities, and thus the mediocre showing so far
  • DT, Roy Miller (-2.5, #64): knee injury from pre-season apparently still lingering? Definition of a disappointment
  • LB1, Vontaze Burfict (1.2, INC): looked great all camp & in game 1. No complains here.
  • LB2, Dannell Ellerbe (-2.5, #36): bounced back with a 12 tackle game vs Indy. So far a steady influence in the middle
  • OLB1, Justin Houston (2.8, #9): continues his excellent play with a solid all around showing - captain of the team.
  • OLB2, Junior Galette (3.0, #8): makes a pretty good LB corp even better. He may really break out this year
  • CB1, Patrick Robinson (-0.1, INC): was having a solid season until being carted off in game 2. Uh-oh - disaster strikes.
  • CB2, Tyrann Mathieu (0.8, INC): only 42 snaps, but already has made a few headline-grabbing plays. Haters will hate, but glad the HB is on this team
  • CB3, DJ Hayden (-0.6, #56): will fit right in Robin's spot as the number 1 CB. Rookie that's handling himself well so far
  • FS, Rashad Jones (-3.8, #73): ugh. Perhaps the money has gone to his head. By far the most disappointing pick with SSS
  • SS, Mark Barron (-1.1, #53): surprisingly holding up in pass coverage but not standing out often enough
Terrible line play is holding this group back. Thank god for the strong LB group, and playmaking HB. Not having a dominant rusher will be the death of this year's D.

SPECIAL TEAMS: B-
  • K, Josh Brown (3.5, #20): weak kick-offs subtract from a perfect 4-4 FG performance
  • P, Brandon Fields (0.9, #22): still a top-10 distance & net yards. Can't complain.
Nothing great, but floating well above water. Could be worse.

SUPPLEMENTAL PICKS: B-
  • CB, Josh Norman (-2.1, #74): with Robinson's injury, Norman can jump into the starting line. Glad to have picked a backup corner here.
  • RB, Michael Ford (INC): not playing yet, but upside is still high. Not a position of need so far (unlike the RW Steelers)
  • FS, Tony Jefferson (INC): could be a find - started one game and recovered a fumble. Only 21 - will watch him grow all season
  • LB, Paul Worrilow (INC): tough to crack this starting linebacker unit. Could be a red-shirt year
Better than expected production out of Norman and Jefferson, so gets a slightly better grade for me.

OVERALL:
The right side of the OL is a huge concern, although Tyron Smith will be an All-Pro in the next 2 years. Falling far short of expectations as a top-3 offense in the league so far, but the pieces are there.

Defense is another issue, with a real lack of pass-rush and injury to our #1 corner in Patrick Robinson.

So far, Steelers are off to a slow start and would rank them right in the 12th-16th team ranking range. But for one of the youngest teams in the league, Steelers FO will practice patience throughout the season.

CLIFF NOTES VERSION:
3-up:
  • O: Ben Tate, TY Hilton, Tyron Smith
  • D: Justin Houston, Junior Galette, Tyrann Mathieu
3-down:
  • O: CJ Spiller, Kelechi Osemele, Ted Larsen
  • D: Rashad Jones, Alex Carrington, Roy Miller
Young team still having growing pains, with subpar lines on both sides.

I've sent some PMs thus far but I'll post a reminder here.  If you want PFF access for this or any reason*, shoot me a PM.

*Unless the reason is to politely point out how crappy my team is.  Then no soup for you.

where the darn libs live
Three up, Three down.

UP:
1) Jason Peters and the offensive line have been excellent outside of TJ Lang, putting up a combined 4.8 -- with Lang causing most of the suckage.
2) Martellus Bennett is the third highest ranked TE in terms of passing game, but is getting a league-worst -5.8 in run blocking.  I'm not sure how to take this.
3) Chris Harris is the seventh highest ranked CB so far.  Robert McClain is ranked 24th overall, providing a league-best number in the rushing game and a -1.1 in coverage.

DOWN:
1) First-round pick Arian Foster may have been a massive mistake.  He's at -1.9 so far.  Uh oh.
2) Derrick Morgan is a league second-worst in run coverage, and ranked 37th overall among 43 DEs.
3) Both our safeties are either out for the year or haven't played a snap.  This is an issue we failed to address in the supp. draft.

deep inside Guido territory
Red's Jets

QB-Geno Smith(-3.4)  Been as bad as it gets.  #31 rated QB
RB-Marshawn Lynch(-2.7)#44 RB.  Faced 2 tough defenses in Carolina and SF, but still not good.
RB-Danny Woodhead(+1.7)--played very well in first 2 games. #13 RB
WR-Marques Colston (+1.4) #32 WR.
WR-Jeremy Kerley(-0.5)
WR-Marqus Wheaton (+0.1)
TE-Dennis Pitta--has not played

Overall, the skill guys are average to below average.  I expect Lynch to turn it up, but Geno needs to step it up.

I'm not even mentioning my OL.  They are either hurt, awful, or not playing at all.

DE-Kroy Bierman(+1.1) Out for the season
DE-John Abraham(-1.2)
DL-Alan Branch (+1.2)
DL-Kyle Love--out of the league

Average up front.  Might be rethinking that Kyle Love signing though and losing Bierman will hurt big time.

LB-Aldon Smith(+4.5)
LB-NaVorro Bowman(+1.9)
LB-Calvin Pace(-0.5)
LB-D'Qwell Jackson(-0.5)

Really like my LB corps.  Aldon Smith is a beast, but might need to play more on the line with Bierman's injury.

CB-Nolan Caroll(+1.8)
CB-Janoris Jenkins(+0.8)
S-George Wilson(+2.9)
S-Danieal Manning (-0.7)

Secondary is playing really well.  Nolan Carroll has had 2 strong games while Wilson is a nice surprise.  Duron Harmon also played well on Thursday in a limited role.

K-Nick Novak(+3.8)
P-Steve Weatherford (+1.2)

Strong special teams to this point.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

My defense is going to have to carry the team for the season.  Offensively, we just suck.  No O-line and no QB will hamper your chances to say the least.  I think I'll be contending for Teddy Bridgewater.

Well, the Green Bay Packers aren't coming together exactly as we anticipated, but the season is early yet

QB-
Jay Cutler- +6.1 for the season- Had a great Week 1 and an average Week 2
Charlie Whitehurst- Riding pine, like we hope he does all season (for us)

RB-
Jamaal Charles- -1.4 Poor start to the season, but we're confident that he'll turn things around
Fred Jackson- +3.4 A well rounded start to the year, solid in the passing and rushing game so far
Mark Ingram-  -2.7 Not emerging in a year we had hopes he would thus far.

WR
Jordy Nelson- +5.2 Exactly what we were looking for out of him so far. Very pleased.
Santonio Holmes- +0.8 A bounce back week after an underwhelming week 1, but still not where we want him to be
Vincent Brown- -0.7 Seeing the reps we want him to, but not making the most of it.

TE-
Fred Davis- -3.2 Still showing the injury effects. Not as far along as we'd hoped.
Kellen Davis- -1.7 A costly penalty negatively impacted his rating, but is here as a backup/blocker
Zach Sudfeld- -1.1 Everyone here should know his season thus far.

OL-
Duane Brown -1.1 A rough week one, but followed up with a stellar week 2 performance we feel is more indicative of where he'll sit this season
Rob Sims +.9 Solid so far this season
Chris Myers +6.6 Just an all around great center. Been fantastic so far this year for both run and pass blocking.
Harvey Dahl +3.8 Been a truck run blocking along the right side, and hasn't been a weakness in pass blocking either
David Stewart- -3.1 A bad week one was compounded by a penalty to drop his rating so far, but his pass blocking rebounded in a big way in week 2.

Offense Overall- B. We really like the interior of our offensive line, and think that Jamaal Charles can move well between the tackles. Cutler has been solid so far, and as long as Duane Brown can stay close to his week 2 levels, we feel like we're doing very well on the line. Jordy Nelson should be productive, but if we want to get into A territory, we need better production out of our other WR/TE.

DL-
Mario Williams- +2.2 After getting a lot of attention from the Pats in week 1, he got a +4.2 rating for his pass rush in week 2, which is the guy we wanted when we took him
Antonio Smith- +1.2 Having only played one game, and contributing positively in the pass rush, we're pleased with Antonio
Aubrayo Franklin- +.5 Another up and down case, Franklin had a poor showing week 1 but rebounded well in week 2. He'll need to be our big run stopper this season.
Adrian Clayborn- -4.7 Currently getting manhandled. Needs to be healthy to get to where we want him to be as a situational pass rusher.

LB-
DJ Williams -0.2 An average LB so far this year. Hasn't really contributed, but hasn't made himself a liability
Earl Mitchell +0.3 See above
Brooks Reed -5.5 Has really taken a step back this year. Just a big disappointment so far.
Koa Misi- -2.9 Very weak against the run so far. If his pass rush improves, it could cover that fine.

Secondary-
Brandon Carr- +2.6 Been solid at CB so far this year. What we expected out of him.
Tramon Williams- +1.7 Our other starting CB has been a positive contributor so far as well, although he's weak against the run.
Darius Butler- -1.6 Our slot corner has been a bit disappointing, but we'll be dropping him in the depth chart.
Tracy Porter- +0.7 Tracy has been solid against the run, and up and down against the pass, but still a net positive. He will be our new slot corner.
Eric Berry- +1.2 A strong week one showing was hurt by a weak week 2 run stopping performance. We'll need more out of him, but happy thus far.
Quintin Demps- +2.2 A surprise positive, Demps has been one of our best players in the secondary. Very good in pass coverage without being weak against the run.

Defense-
B- - I'm very happy with where our secondary is. Demps's emergence at safety in pass coverage lets us be confident enough to pair him with Eric Berry and slide Tracy Porter back into the slot corner role, where he's best. I like our DL, but if our LB corp doesn't improve in a hurry, it's a big weakness teams are going to exploit. I think we can defend the pass well, but we're going to get burned by good running backs.

Special Teams-
Lawrence Tynes- Got staph'd out for the year. We can assume we'd get a pretty crappy street clothes kicker to replace him.
Andy Lee- Been his usual self. PFF doesn't rank him, but he's been very good.

Overall, I've been slightly disappointed in my team thus far. My linebacking corp is much weaker than I wanted, but that's offset by a surprisingly positive secondary. I need more contributions on offense, though.

Is there an API on PFF? Would be awesome to create an automated sheet that calculates the grades for our teams on a weekly basis.

Here is how the Chargers have played so far according to PFF:

Offense
QB: Jake Locker (1.3, #16) - Definition of average which is better than I expected against Pittsburgh and Houston
HB: Doug Martin (-4.1, #53) - A really bad week one against the Jets run defense, but played better in week two
HB: Lamar Miller (-4.2, #54) - See above
WR: Reggie Wayne (2.0, #20) - Shown no signs of decline thus far
WR: Emmanuel Sanders (-0.1, #55) - Steelers offense was poor all-around, incomplete since he plays tonight
WR: Jonathan Baldwin (N/A) - Hasn't played since being traded to the 49ers
WR: Jerome Simpson (3.2, #9) - Great week one and still trending positively
OT: D'Brickasaw Ferguson (-2.4, #51) - Has played poor like the rest of the Jets O-Line
OT: Riley Reiff (1.2, #28) Adjusting well to first full NFL season as a LT
OG: Matt Slauson (4.9, #5) Fantastic pass blocking through two weeks, which was what the Bears lacked last season
OG: Lance Louis (N/A) Released by the Dolphins after continuing trouble with his repaired ACL
OG: Willie Colon (-2, #45) See D'Brickashaw Ferguson
C: Rodney Hudson (2.3, #6) Come back from injury where he left off

Defense
DE: Melvin Ingram (N/A) Placed on IR, torn ACL
DE: Corey Wootton (-2.1, #35) Inconsistent so far
DE: Quanterus Smith (N/A) Placed on IR, torn ACL
DE: Oliver Vernon (-10.0, #49) Awful
DT: Geno Atkins (2.8, #14) Has a game tonight and still easily my best front 7 player
DT: Sharrif Floyd (0.2, #43) Lack of snaps in week two slightly concerning
MLB: Brandon Spikes (-1.3, #30) I think we all know his issues
MLB: Spencer Paysinger (-0.5, #20) Defense has let up a lot of points in two games
OLB: Kaluka Maiava (-0.2, #20) Got him for his pass coverage which has been disappointing
OLB: Thomas Davis (-0.9, #26) Good in coverage but horrible in the run week two
CB: Darrelle Revis (4.5, #2) Still a stud after the ACL injury
CB: Tarell Brown (0.7, #39) Better run support than his pass coverage so far
CB: Jordan Poyer (N/A) Only 17 snaps so far
S: Stevie Brown (N/A) Placed on IR, torn ACL
S: Eric Reid (1.4, #18) Has played well so far but suffered a concussion during week two
S: Rodney McLeod (-0.2, #40) Hopefully improves against the run, decent pass coverage
K: Dustin Hopkins (N/A) Hasn't played with a groin injury, is week-to-week
P: Mike Scifres (1.3, #20) No blocks or touchbacks, can't complain

Three Up
1) CB Darrelle Revis - He's proven to still be an elite shutdown CB so far after his ACL tear
2) C Rodney Hudson - Another guy who is proving himself after an injury
3) WR Jerome Simpson - Not sure it will last but hopefully continues his current play

Three Down
1) RB Position - I'm not too concerned but hasn't been a positive so far
2) DE Oliver Vernon - Can't really play any worse
3) ACL's - I think my team might set a record on the number torn

It's a mixed bag after two weeks.  I've got some guys playing really well and others playing really bad.  My secondary, O-Line, and WR's have been the bright spots so far.  If I had to judge I'd say we'd have been a slightly below average team during the first couple weeks.

I wouldn't be too concerned with Miller nor Martin. Miller didn't have crazy stats but looked explosive out of the run and shifty as ever. I wouldn't be surprised to see him with 1200+ yards by season's end.

This is kind of what you get when you take no one who can grow a mustache.

EDIT: Oh, and no PFF access for me, but I'm gonna guess that with Cruz, Smith and Wright, RFP Tom Brady has 40 TD passes and isn't being criticized for his body language.

I understood that going in. It is what it is. I think it's kind of early to start doing this, no?

I agree, I'm not too concerned about either of them.  Forgot to mention both my TE's but that is because they are third and second to last in the league right now according to PFF (Brandon Myers and Luke Stocker).  So much for my 1 pass catching specialist and 1 blocking specialist TE's.

I do have a couple of questions, and both might have been answered but I wasn't on at all during the summer.  Are trades allowed?  If so, is there any sort of deadline?  I remember seeing something about choosing 5 unprotected players for each team.  Are those players included in an off-season draft with rookies and other FA's or is there something separate?

I would love the ability to make trades, particularly those where I trade away draft picks for fading stars. I mean, commit to the bit or don't do it at all.

Mike Glennon will be very disappointed if he can't be traded at some point. It's gonna be hard to be a starter in the NFL and a back up in RFP.

Are those numbers right?  Through two games? Lynch had 130 yards from scrimmage and 3td's in week 2?  He's currently the number 3 running back, by fantasy football rankings.

PFF takes into account a lot more than fantasy numbers.  He's negative as far as the passing game, running game, and blocking.  I'm guessing his low YPC average and YAC/attempt have something to do with his low ratings in the running game.

The caveat though is PFF certainly isn't perfect and a good case can be made that they get it wrong on quite a few players.  I do agree with you though that I don't think Lynch has been as bad as those numbers say he has been.

Don't have time for a full analysis at the moment, but here's three up and three down:

UP:
1) Alterraun Verner:  Tied for the #1 spot according to PFF with Darrelle Revis and Brent Grimes at +4.5.  With First Round Pick Casey Heyward sidelined for a few weeks, Verner has stepped up big time, and is the current leader of a DB unit that is playing slightly above average, all things considered.

2) QB - Carson Palmer is currently PFF's #6 rated QB at +4.0, and should be doing a servicable job holding down the fort until rookie EJ Manuel is fully ready to take over.  Speaking of Manuel, he's been relatively impressive for the Bills so far, and while PFF has him at #26 with a (-1.3) grade so far the rookie has certainly shown promise.  I'm guardedly optimistic about this position going forward.

3) O-Line:  This isn't a dominant group by any stretch of the imagination, but so far they've been surprisingly decent.  Anchored by PFF's #1 ranked RG, Kevin Zeitler leads the way with a +6.4 ranking.  Stefen Wisniewski and Jeff Allen, our C and LG both are both currently sitting right outside the Top 10 (#11 and #13 at +1.3 and +3.1) respectively.  At RT, DJ Fluker has been a mild disappointment, but I'm encouraged that the rookie has graded out at +1.9 in pass protection, even if his Run blocking score is terrible.  Fluker was a mauler at Alabama, and I'm not worried about his run blocking long term, especially if he can keep up the modest positive score in pass protection.  The major issue is losing LT Chris Hairston to IR, and David Quessenberry, our only backup, has yet to see the field behind a very solid set of starters for HOU.

DOWN:
1) Defensive Line:  Yes, Cameron Wake is being Cameron Wake and playing just fine, but that's not good enough for a defensive line that was supposed to be feisty.  Tank Carradine may not see the field this year, and while Chris Canty is a serviceable backup at the other End position, he's not exactly setting the world on fire with +1.4 and (-2.0) ratings for pass rush and run def, respectively.  He's also large for a 4-3 DE, and we might have to make Wake play standing up an a 3-4, with Dareus moving to End.  Speaking of Dareus - he's been atrocious against the run at (-5.0), dragging down his otherwise solid, if unspectacular) scores in pass rush (+1.1) and coverage (+1.5!!!).  Hopefully he turns it around.  And our other two rookies - Johnathan Hankins and Margus Hunt - have yet to play.  Ugh.

2) Linebackers:  KJ Wright, Dont'a Hightower, and Brian Cushing are a talented group, but they haven't played like it - Again, plenty of time to turn it around, but not what you want to see from a unit that was supposed to be a strength.

3) Offensive Skill Positions:  Ugh.  Not a single bright spot among the bunch, really.  Jared Cook had a monster game 1, but disappeared in game 2, and his terrible blocking scores are pulling his grades down.  Mike Williams is only OK.  Bryce Brown hasn't done much with the few opportunities he's had in Chip Kelley's offense.  Terrence Williams as been not terrible for a rookie, but that's about all you can say for him.  McCluster is a nifty little gadget that is probably useful every once in a while, but is not a real threat.  Even Bruce Miller has been crappy.  About the only thing you can say about this unit is that it was never really expected to be any good - so I guess it's sucktitude is less disappointing than the aforementioned defensive units.

The Lions offense looks like it could be really good this season with

QB-Tannehill
RB - Lesean McCoy
WR - Desean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, and Eddie Royal
TE - Ed Dickson
RT - Andre Smith
LT - Joe Thomas
C - Kyle Cook
LG - Chris Kuper
RG - Davin Joseph

BN - Ryan Broyles - WR
BN - DeAngelo Williams - RB
BN - Nate Burelson - WR
BN - Shaun Hill QB

Defense

DE Chris Long
DT Brandon Mebane
DT Sedrick Ellis
DE Willie Young

LB Paul Poslusnzy
LB Chad Greenway
LB Justin Durant

CB Leon Hall
CB Charles Tillman
S Louis Delmas
S Glover Quinn

Nickel Antonie Cason
Dime Bill Bentley

BN - Chris Clemons (awaiting return from injury)

Defense looks solid, so far the strength is definitely in the back 7, especially our secondary.

Trades are not allowed.  In the offseason, we'll have another draft with the following procedure:

1. Everybody drops four players of their choosing.
2. Everybody protects 12 players of their choosing.
3. Draft pool consists of newly NFL draft eligible guys, any unrostered player, any unprotected player.
4. You can only lose two unprotected players max.
5. The draft will last 11 rounds and every team will have lost six players previously (4 dropped, 2 taken by other teams) so rosters will expand by five slots.

I think there should be some mechanism for trades. Like let's say both Tyler Wilson and Blaine Gabbert establish themselves as stars by the end of the year. Should KFP / SMU have to drop one or see one poached and get nothing in return? Should they keep both and have one languish on the bench, unused?

I think we should have a brief (one week maybe) window, prior to designating our drop / protect players, where each team gets to make one one-player-for-one-player trade. That should keep things simple while allowing for a little more player movement.

Also, not every team is going to lose two players, so not everyone will make 11 picks in the 2014 draft, right?

I'm happy to have a league discussion regarding whether to allow some kind of trading window like you mentioned.  Maybe we can wait until near the end of the NFL season though.

I don't know that every team will lose two players but that is my strong suspicion.  Given that its an 11 round draft, you'd need a really shitty team with very little depth for your 13th and 14th best guys not to be more attractive to other teams relative to the other eligible draftees, which after a while will be bottom of the barrel NFL draftees and unrostered NFL players.  I think the technical rule should be that if you don't lose two players, you make that many less picks at the end of the draft.  But my guess is that it won't actually come up.

Mike Glennon is saddened to hear he will spend his RFP career staring at Tom Brady's ass.

No trades is a stupid rule. I should TOTALLY be able to trade Glennon to SMU/KFP for a draft pick next year. Otherwise, someone in the RFP is always going to have no starting NFL QB while smart GM soxfan121 has two of them.

Of course, if no trades is the rule, I will be taking best QB available in next year's draft (slot dependent) hoping to stash another starting QB and forcing SMU/KFP to commit hari kari at some point in 2014.

There are like 4-5 starting caliber QB's in next years draft though and we still have the "you can only have 1 starting caliber QB on your roster rule" - we're drafting Garrett Gilbert anyway*.

My biggest mistake in that draft was arguing for Wilson over Palmer. With Palmer I think we would have had a decent chance at winning it all. I got greedy and bought the hype about Wilson.

Weird week for me. Kaepernick had his second straight lousy game (13/27, 0 TDs, 1 INT), but Gio Bernard had a good game (10 carries for 50 yards and a TD, 4 catches for 49 yards) and my O-line was dominant (+12.1 cumulative grade per PFF). I did not expect that through three games, Kaepernick (-6.0) would have the worst PFF grade while Kory Lichtensteiger (+8.9) and Don Barclay (+7.0) had the best grades on my O.

D was solid (+7.2), keyed by David Harris (+5.1). Harris has been my D MVP (+9.0) this season, with Ngata (+5.4) and Barry Cofield (+4.7) also very good and rookie Kenny Vaccaro (-3.1) having some rookie struggles.

Philosophically, I believe in passing and defending the pass, but my squad's overall passing rating is -3.1 and my coverage rating is -5.2. Injuries to Michael Crabtree and Stephen Gilmore have definitely hurt.

But if our RFP schedules match real life, the Ravens probably showed enough to beat JerBear's Texans to bring our record to 2-1. Still trying to stay afloat while some guys work their way back. Coples played last week, and Irvin comes off his suspension for week 5's game.

Well, managed to lose two players (Alex Okafor and Jason Jones) to season-ending injuries a week after losing Ian Williams.  My defense is starting to look like swiss cheese.

With Greg Hardy, Sheldon Richardson, and Nick Fairley up front, and Alec Ogletree making strides with St. Louis, I think my front seven is going to be solid for years to come.

Hopefully Le'Veon Bell comes back from his foot sprain and we can finally run the ball.

Our captain Justin Houston just won the Defensive Player of the Week honors for 2 straight weeks.

Thank god, as our other starting LB Alex Carrington is done for the year.
