Texans take Prince Shembo, ILB, Atlanta Falcons.

He's looked good in the preseason. He's not starting for them but he won't be starting for me either.

MMS pm'd.

My housemate and I were discussing this league last night. He doesn't follow on more than a casual level and we went to talking about dual-sport athletes.

I told him something like, "If only LeBron played football. What a tight end receiving option he'd make and he has the body to add weight and block a little too". He thought LeBron might naturally make a better LB because he's so athletic.

So guys... if Mr. James approached ypur team and asked to play where would you want him to suit up? I'd try him at LB and TE. Not sure where else he'd go.... ideas?

He could be monstrous as a DE.

Oops...that guy was taken...still need to pick.

We added Corey Redding late in the regular draft to help with DL depth, but he's old. We at the Dolphins don't particularly like old. So we're finding his replacement while he's still on the team:

The ElCab Dolphins select DE Ethan Westbrooks from the real life Rams.

Best known as the guy most likely to keep Michael Sam from a roster spot went undrafted out of D2 West Texas A&M, despite crazy sack totals there. All he's done in the preseason is dominate, including a sack in 3 games, while being the top rated 4-3 DE by PFF this preseason (small sample size obviously applies).

Who knows, he could get cut by Sunday, but I'm hoping he wins a job and adds to our DL depth and sack totals this year. And our team didn't have enough guys with face tattoos:

DRC looks great but my other corners haven't shown much this preseason. I'm expecting Robinson to be a decent nickle corner, Ryan to turn it around and Desir to be productive when healthy but some insurance here wouldn't hurt. I wanted to go a different route but I really wanted this guy and there was no way he was making it back to me next round. The other guys might.

The RFP Patriots select the RL Patriot Malcolm Butler, CB

This kid has been extremely impressive and while it's only been preseason he looks like another great find by BB and Co.

Sorry to be so late with the pick guys...draft is just hitting at a bad time work wise.  I need to add some interior OL depth with Michael Bowie going on injured reserve, so I'll grab Zach Fulton, a 6th round G prospect who has been turning heads in Chiefs camp and seems likely to win a starting job.

I understand that I am on the clock.  To keep this moving before the holiday weekend I'm making a pick.  The Sentinels select:

Brice Butler, WR, Raiders

A second year player, Butler looks to have locked down a spot in Oakland.  He graduated early from USC where he was a WR, and got a Masters and finished his collegiate career.  Oakland drafted him in the seventh round and he made the team as a rookie, making 9 catches for 107 yards in light action.

He spent the offseason working out with Megatron and A.J. Green, and has put up great numbers for Oakland this preseason.  13 catches for 206 yards and 4 TDs.  The Oakland blogs are all abuzz over what he'll do in the regular season.  Since I lost a WR to injury, I'm making sure I grab a replacement now.

Marquette King, PUNTER

Look, when you HAVE to take a punter, you look for certain things. Like, is he on a roster, who's his competition, does he have a gigantic "F" tattooed on his forearm, is he named after a city and/or university?

Luckily, Mr. King - the only African American punter in the league, you punting racists - is available. We are glad to welcome him to the Bengal Bay by the bay.

Maybe the second round should be a free-for-all, or at least blocks of 4 or 8 teams than can pick every so often?  This draft is taking forever.

Spreadsheet is updated.

I don't know if Ragnarock sent Tito a PM so I did.  Assuming he did, Tito's clock is up and DoDM is on the clock.

DoDM is on the clock as of 8PM Sunday.
Dollar is on deck.

Baka, MSF, PDBWake, SPDougie (K), KFP/SMU, and Tito all have outstanding picks to make.

EDIT: I pm'd both Tito and DoDM before making this post.

I'll take a stab at picking up a guy with some pass rush potential who I hadn't heard of until 15 minutes ago.

The Broncos select... Armonty Bryant, DE, Browns

After twice being arrested for selling marijuana in college at East Central Oklahoma University, and getting arrested for a DUI less than a week after he was drafted in the 7th round by Cleveland, he has been able to turn things around somewhat and put together a pretty great preseason.  He complied 2 sacks and 12 hurries, and reportedly got around Jake Long a number of times in their game against St. Louis, delivering the hit that knocked Sam Bradford out for the season.

Not that I was ever going to be adequately prepared for the supplemental draft, but I literally moved in today. My desk is piled high with shit and my roommate is at the goddamn U.S. Open yet here I am watching grainy standard def college football (why the fuck is Louisville in the ACC now) and googling preseason box scores. Christ, I don't even have the mental stamina to figure out which of the guys already on my team are injured.

It's been a wonderful summer, hasn't it? Turns out $4.50 an hour, while apparently a perfectly legal wage, does little to impress women, especially when your only strategy for getting laid is a high school crush who was never actually interested and who was fucking a coworker the whole summer anyway. In other words, I did exactly what I said I would do, because I get shit done, no matter how insignificant or embarrassing.

Speaking of embarrassing, you all still seem really invested in something a college freshman beat you at using an excel file full of outdated Madden ratings. If I do have to relinquish the metaphorical trophy this year, please feel free to imagine it smelling like stale semen and cheeto dust.

Fuck, I don't know, Corey Washington, WR, because some idiot on Bleacher Report says he won't be any good. pm being sent.

Hmmmmmm is it possible to pick up a starting LT in the NFL in the 2nd round of a supplemental draft?

Yes if you're an astute GM who's ahead of the curve. Seoul Steelers steal:

LT Byron Bell

Is he one of the better LT in the league? No. But to the Steelers the once UDFA is an extremely versatile lineman who has started at RG, RT, and LG.

He'll be an important swing piece, and will be an insurance policy at LT.

DanooME PM'd.

Well well well. We meet again Mr McClain. When I first drafted you I was ridiculed (rightfully so). You were cut in real life and cut from the 49ers. But somehow you've made it back to the NFL and you're starting for the Dallas Cowboys. Come on home Rolando, come on home.

49ers select: ILB, Rolando McClain (again)
