RealFantasy Supplemental Draft 2014

With Marvin Jones out for a few weeks I wanted to add another tall WR with great hands who could be a red zone threat and have the size and ability to make plays over the middle. I've had my eye on this player for about three rounds and I'm glad he dropped. All reports say this kid does nothing but work hard and make plays. I figured he'd get overlooked because he's not that high on the depth chart on his RL team. I had hoped the Pats would take a flier on this guy in the draft so I'll gladly add him to the RFP Pats.

With their last pick in the supplemental draft the Pats select Devin Street, WR Cowboys

That gives me a potential red zone package with 5 guys 6'3" and over and a 6'6" QB. Good luck with that.

MM is about to have mail.

The Saints are going to add to what is just a deplorable receiving corps, selecting WR Travis Benjamin

He immediately becomes my best healthy receiver.  Woof.

Catching up on my pick from yesterday:

The Elcab Dolphins select CB Bene Benwikere of the real life Panthers.

A 5th round pick in this year's draft, he played well in the preseason and should see plenty of action in Carolina this year. Since Dmitri Patterson decided to stop showing up for work, we wanted to add another corner to shore up our secondary.

Edit: It looks like mascho is up, but I can't send him a PM. Can anyone help out?

Hoo-hoo-hoo hoosier land.
Guys, I have to apologize for being completely out to lunch on this. I haven't had time to do any research on the available players. I'm at the point where I'm ready to give up my team--but realistically I know that there may not be any takers at the moment. I am going to try to get caught up tonight. If I come up again, please skip me.

Chris McCain, LB (Miami)

Looked impressive on Sunday, has a clear path to playing time with the injuries/suspensions and we really, really need a healthy LB.

So, I have two guys kicked out of the league for assault and one with a season-ending injury.  Another losing season seems to be on the horizon.

Don't know if dgilpin did it, so I PM'd KFP and SMU.

You might as well skip them. KFP is pretty busy, based on the BBtL post and probably won't give this his attention for a few more hours.

I need some RB depth and since Ray Rice is now out of town this guy should be getting NFL reps.

The 49ers select: RB, Justin Forsett

The Broncos take... Tony Jefferson, SS from the RL Cardinals.

I'm thrilled to get a guy this talented in one of the best defensive backfields in football with my last pick.  He went undrafted in 2013, then played in all 16 games last year and beat out Deonne Bucannon for the starting job this year.  He's just what my defense needs with Usama Young battling injuries and Morgan Burnett stuck in a platoon situation.

It's after 9...if he isn't doing jello shots out of someone's belly button I'm disappointed.
Agreed, but him being on the clock means that the draft is "over" as of 1PM tomorrow.  This means we can schedule the IR free-for-all signing period before all but 1 week2 game is played and hopefully get rosters filled up before Sunday and finally get the RFP offseason done.

Well, that's why you're in charge and I'm the love child of Statler & Waldorf, heckling from the balcony.

The supplemental draft will be "over" at 1PM eastern today.  Picks can still be made through 1PM eastern Sunday September 14.  Any team with open roster spots after that time will be assigned the highest drafted player from the NFL draft not on a RealFantasy roster.  If the team has an obvious hole at a position they will be given a player that fits that hole.

Tomorrow, September 12, we will begin the IR process.  A new thread will be created for IR claims.  Starting at NOON eastern to allow our west coast owners time to wake up claims may be made.  1 claim/drop per post, forum timestamps are the tie-break.  Any claims made before noon (according to SoSH timestamp) won't count.  Only players placed on IR before the season will be eligible (I can't IR Derrick Johnson or Robert Mathis).  Players who retired before the season are also eligible.  You will NOT keep the replacement players for either IR or retirements.  This is just so you have a real player to point to in end of season arguments.  This process is completely optional, if you don't want to do it you don't have to.

PMs will be sent shortly to all owners with these details.

With a make up selection, the Sentinels re-draft:

Gerald Hodges, OLB, Minnesota

We drafted him last year but let him go at cut time. He has won a rotational spot with Minny and that is good enough for us.

DRC looks great but my other corners haven't shown much this preseason. I'm expecting Robinson to be a decent nickle corner, Ryan to turn it around and Desir to be productive when healthy but some insurance here wouldn't hurt. I wanted to go a different route but I really wanted this guy and there was no way he was making it back to me next round. The other guys might.

The RFP Patriots select the RL Patriot Malcolm Butler, CB

This kid has been extremely impressive and while it's only been preseason he looks like another great find by BB and Co.
