My set up simple. TV, STB, Soundbar, DVD player (that's right), and WiiU. The only reason I even need a UR is for the soundbar and I don't want to have a separate remote just for volume control. Before anybody jumps to suggest a Harmony, I currently own a 650 and this is the problem. While I love the ease of setup and customization, this thing constantly loses sync (known issue) and its driving me crazy mostly because my kids need my help to get it synced up again.

All I really need is something that will power on/off my 3 primary devices (TV, STB, Soundbar) with 1 button and allow audio punch through so the soundbar is default for all devices. While the Activities mode is nice on the Harmony I really only use "Watch TV" and can just switch inputs for DVD or WiiU. I could get by with something as simple as this Sony but custom programming individual buttons can be a PITA (I've had a similar one before) and there is no dedicated System on/off button. I would have to use one of the bottom row System Control keys, which is a shitty place for the System Power button. Plus no back lit keys.

I'm curious if anybody here has any experience with this URC RF20 remote. Seems like a nice option but am concerned about running into the same sync issues and not having hard keys to power toggle individual components, which is part of the issue now.

Budget is a factor. Again, my setup is pretty basic so it seems stupid to spend $200 bucks on a remote just so I can use my $125 sound bar.

URC remotes are the best thing since sliced bread if you've already found the pitfalls of a Harmony remote.   Logitech basically filled a void in the market between macro-based universal remote controls and cheap, 3-device Sony, RCA, et al universals - they were intuitive, had great capabilities and features, and most of all they are easy as pie to program.   This is where things get a little bit more complex with the URC.  They are not at all easy to program, especially for those who aren't the least bit savvy with code or computers.  However, once programmed, they hardly ever lose their place or become unresponsive for a device or particular feature and are basically superior to the Harmony remotes in every way.
