It's pretty late in the week. Has anyone gotten an email? I haven't seen one yet, although I have the weekend plan, so I'm behind the full season and weeknight guys.
Nope, not yet. Did you get the same email I posted above? If so I don't think there will be any differentiation between STH types.

I got the email, tickets for STH go on sale Tuesday at 10:00 until 6:00. All April and May games have been removed from accounts so there is credit available with which to buy these tickets. Unfortunately I don't know how to copy it to here.

Did any 10 game plan people get contacted? I'm one and I haven't heard anything. I also opted to pay for the season in 4 monthly increments but a couple months they said they were suspending those payments until things were sorted out better.

10 game plans have not been contacted per my cousin. I received an e-mail, we have 4 tickets to all games. The way I understand is that they've divided the April and May games into four groups, you can do two orders with one game chosen per group. You can get 8 total games.

We split our seats with two other partners, we are opting to not go in April and May ourselves, but our partners are welcome to do so. It is my understanding that whatever our monetary value for April and May was has been credited to our account. Any tickets we "purchase" will be debited from that credit.

Our window begins on Monday afternoon and goes to Tuesday evening.

For Minneapolis, as of April 1, outdoor gatherings of 10,000 will be allowed.
So, the Twins are in line to have ~25% capacity for opening day.
And with the Red Sox in for the second series.
Philadelphia will also have 25% capacity to start the season.

I have the weekend plan. I was told my presale is Thursday, March 18 from Noon to 6pm. Opening Day is not included in this presale (at least for the weekenders).
If we want to buy, we have to select one game from April 3rd to April 19th, and another game from April 24th to May 30th. And then we're allowed to go through this process for a 2nd two-game transaction, if we'd like.

As someone who regularly attended games between 1963-66, Fenway this year will definitely be like the good old days.
And then the Impossible Dream year of 1967 when attendance more than doubled, and they never looked back. I attended 10 games that year. The Sox lost the first four and I thought I was the jinx because they were pretty much a .500 team out of the gate until they got hot in July. But they won my last six, so I exceeded the team's W/L percentage by a bit. Ha. What a fun team and a great atmosphere Fenway was that year!

Absolutely. Jack Lamabe used to give me grief about Dave Moorhead's no-hitter and the fact that about 600 people witnessed it in 1965. '67 was the year that Red Sox Nation was born.
I did watch that no hitter on TV. First I ever saw. Day game in mid-September, Sox way, way out of the race, well, eliminated. 2-0 Sox over Cleveland, losing pitcher was Luis Tiant. Attendance 1,247.

I am psyched for Sox games this year! I don't think I even participated in a single gamethread last year. Poor.

I went to over 40 games that year sitting mostly in the bleachers which were $1 at the time, plus all 4 World Series games. Attendance really picked up after they came home from the big winning streak, I think 10 games, on the road. Until then I could sit pretty much anywhere I wanted, often the first row but always in the first 5 or so rows, as all bleacher tickets were unreserved. Afterwards it was a little tougher, I had to get there a little earlier to get a good seat.

I was able to get in an hour early and they had tickets available at pretty much every price level. Just weekends and Patriot's Day were available to me, which is what I get with my season ticket package. It was nice to be able to use some of that money I gave them in December 2019.

My uncle just sent me some tix for Sunday 5/16. They’re like 5 rows up behind 3rd base, I sat there for game 1 2018 WS and a handful of other times. So excited to get back to Fenway even if I don’t particularly care about the team much anymore.

Although I had no intention of buying tickets I logged in just to see what would be available to me. There were good tickets in pretty much every price range in the lower deck available, bleachers through lower boxes, but nothing in the Pavilion boxes.

I was able to get 4/3 and 5/30 in the Pavilion boxes and Patriots Day and 5/16 in the loge boxes right behind the plate. Demand even at 1/8 capacity may be soft, but I'm fully vaccinated and happy to be back in the ballpark.

I have a really hard time logging in. Can you toss tickets in the Ballpark App or should I go online. I hate the app. I was so comfortable with the system they had. I didn't buy any tickets and I hope I can wait until June.

The Red Sox are running a digital ticketing webinar on Thursday for season ticket holders. I can share the registration link if you didn't get the email.

Yes, you can toss them in the ballpark app. Here's a handy PowerPoint presentation with a guide to the app. I'm not sure if they've made any updates to the app since that presentation was put together though.
Yeah, the app has undergone some changes that will make that slide deck somewhat obsolete. MLB is working on updated versions for all teams that coincide with last week's newest version of the app.

Outside of the look and feel of the app, the biggest change now is that your Sox ticket account must be linked to an MLB.com login, and you can only have one linked account per team. If you have more than one account, the Sox should be able to merge them. If you typically buy tickets online or have renewed online this year, this is something that is probably already set up for you.

I work through these exact issues for a living for another team, but the troubleshooting is pretty universal. If anyone has specific questions, please don't hesitate to drop me a PM.

I'm going to try to view the webinar (overlapping zoom meetings). I just wished they left things alone. I don't want to learn new things. I just want to go to a baseball f#cking game. The MLB just wants more personal information. They only make me angry and sad. The f#cking app only opens about half the time. I was online for over an hour with MLB "help". Rant over.

Thanks for the information.

Why are the people you forward the tickets to able to print the tickets but I can't ? Don't give the touchless answer. You don't need to touch a printed ticket either.

Try forwarding it to yourself. That will likely turn on the printing as if you sent to someone else.

It's actually absurd that they will allow the Garden to fill to the same proportion as Fenway or Gillette given the respective risks of indoor Vs outdoor sports.

I think part of it is that they're forcing you to do a health attestation before entering the park, which requires the Ballpark app. I'm not sure how they'll handle people who have printed tickets.

They also quietly mentioned that no bags other than medical and diaper bags are allowed in the park. I assume it's so the security guards at the gates don't have to touch anyone's stuff. My wife literally goes nowhere without her purse and has no clothing that would allow her to carry a phone and a wallet, so I don't know what she's going to do. And I always bring a giant sack of snacks when I go there with my kids. I can get away with it as a diaper bag for the 2 1/2 year old who refuses to potty train, but it will be harder with the 6 year old.

Can you loan your wife a jacket with a couple of pockets that zip up?

Plan B - we were eligible for six - but if you wanted to buy in - you HAD to buy three (Plan B). You'd buy one in each group of six games. 3 out of 18.

Then you could go back through "the buffet line" for a second helping. We declined.

There was a "second chance sale" yesterday (Tuesday) but all there were , April games PLUS April and May pavilion suite tickets (at $225 per).

Then there was a "Red Sox Insider" sale of April games today (Wednesday). Declined.

Actually - this is a blessing because we're not forced to buy the tickets for April and May games, which, we wind up giving away or StubHubbing for 25c on the dollar, or throwing away half of. And my guess is that the "secondary" market for April games will collapse, but that's a guess.

The only thing is the outrageous scalpers' market ... one guy in one of the Facebook groups I'm in, boasted of "scoring" a pair of bleacher tickets to a Houston game in July -actually - a PROMISE by the broker to secure two tickets for him - no July tickets have been distributed as yet -for $375 or so.

In fact, Ratso Rizzo or Fatso's Ticket Trailer (next to Dottie's Dirty Book Shop) can only deal in PROMISES now as no tickets for summer games have been released.,, unless they hold season tickets themselves, or have bought from them.

Caveat Emptor!

For what it's worth, the Twins are forcing season ticketholders to redeem tickets in "pods" of 2 or 4 - they will not allow a person to attend using 1 ticket - meaning an "80-game" package will only allow someone to attend 40 games.

Needless to say, I'm pretty ticked off at them.

Not only do you need an Android or an Iphone to download the App, but a friend informed me that you also need a recent Android or Iphone to download the App, because, technology. It boggles the mind why MLB wants to make it even more complicated (and for some, impossible) for its fans to enter the gates to a game.

Today is the day for Season Ticket Holders to get Opening Day tickets. They're going in order of seniority with people whose first season was 1948-1985 going first, 1986-2000 second, and so forth. I barely made the cut for the second group, and there were some great seats available, but I just can't make it work with the kids' pickup from school/daycare.

I'm wondering who the person is who has had their tickets since 1948. Are they going to have the latest cell phone with the Ballpark app?

The Sunday plan I used to share goes back to 1978 for my friend who still has the tix. I will have to ask him if he got Opening Day

They don't seem to be going too much above face on the secondary market, and have been in a freefall over the last few days as more STH inventory hits. Maybe for like the cost of a beer or two over face. With pricing what it is these days, I just don't understand the point of Red Sox season tickets anymore.

If I buy a ticket on Stubhub to Saturday’s game, will it be straightforward to attend like normal times in terms of receiving the tickets on phone and scanning them at ballpark or are there ridiculous hoops to jump through to get in now

Yeah, you just need a mask for Fenway and use either Ballpark App or Stubhub App (depending on how you bought them. SH in your case). The hoops are at the Stade Fasciste.

Opening Day tickets still currently available through the Red Sox. Also, there are tickets on Stub Hub for below face value for Opening Day, not sure if still below face once fees get added in. But overall the market looks pretty soft - if Opening Day tickets aren't selling, what will the rest of April look like?

I think weather is hurting Opening Day a bit but half the joy of Opening Day is the big crowds, the atmosphere, the packed bars and so on. Those aren't a real selling point right now. I'll be interested in watching today to see what the park sounds like with the ~4,500 or so fans there.

April and May are generally horrible from a selling standpoint except Opening Day and Patriot's Day. You might have a weekend series do OK or the Yankees come into town, etc. but I'm not too disappointed that I got my STH refund for all those games.

Still pouring out. Rain should stop well ahead of first pitch, but they may have issues with wet grounds and the seats will be soaked.

That's why they build in the off day on the second day of the season. No sense in playing in the rain if you can easily wait a day.

Yeah, we're not going to Opening Day (even with the postponement) -- I only bought tickets for three games out of my allocation - and I have one for late April and two for May. Opening Day is also priced at the "platinum" tier and I'd have to pay the public sale prices plus fees.

The excitement isn't there in terms of atmosphere AND the product on the field. Patriots' Day? We're passing on that, too - because of the security checks, etc. it's too strenuous.

Time for my annual post: why does MLB refuse to schedule the opening few series in warm weather cities or cities with domes?

Why have Baltimore playing at Boston while Tampa plays at Miami? Houston at Oakland? Texas at KC? San Francisco at Seattle? LA at Colorado? Arizona at San Diego? Atlanta at Philly?
