Saw that he had passed away on BBRef site. I remember him as tall and super skinny. He had a few good seasons for us and then got traded for Tom House - who had no good seasons for us.
I also recall some incident where he went into a catatonic state. RIP Rogelio.

I saw him pitch a one-hitter in 1974. He was incredible. The only hit? Dick Allen.

Liked him a lot, terrible news. Bad day for us, who were sports fans 40 years ago with Moret´s and Rossi's deaths.

A little before my time. My memories of him are all through APBA and Diamond Mind replays of the 75 Sox - when he went 14-3 as a swingman. I always put him in the rotation all season and he was great. The bullpen was terrible though.

RIP

Roger became one of my personal favorites on those 70's Sox. I was saddened when he had his mental breakdown with the Rangers, and years later when I began working around patients with schizophrenia, I often thought of him and this incident. Very sad that he experienced this, but it sounds like he managed a somewhat normal life back home in Puerto Rico. RIP.

Also one of my favorites, because of how he generated such great stuff despite being so skinny. I was also going to write because of how well I remember him pitching against the Yankees, though did a quick hop over to BBRef and turns out his career numbers there weren't so great.

I choose to remember him dominating the MFY nonetheless.

One of the books I’ve read/listened to during the pandemic is Mark Frost’s Game Six. It chronicles the 75 Sox-Reds epic game and Series and includes vignettes on most of the players, including Moret, who certainly had his share of success and struggle. RIP...

Imagine the uproar today if the Sox traded a 25 year old swing man who had given then 475 innings the past three season at at ERA + of ~ 115 for Tom Freaking House (who was great in 1974, and decent in 1975 but at an annual inning deficit of 60-70 versus Moret).
