Good to see Clifton there ahead of Kampfer. I go back and forth on whether he gets the gig over Moore when Moore comes back -- mostly because Moore seems to be the best PP defenseman they have after Krug -- but unless he gets completely undone by playoff nerves, Clifton has been miles better than Kampfer.

Moore will go in for Clifton. Moore is more useful on the PK than the PP. Moore averaged the 3rd most PK time on ice among defenseman, behind Chara and Carlo. Moore hardly played on the PP, only 25 minutes all season. Grzelyck and McAvoy get the 2nd PP duties.

d'oh....Misread numbers leads to bad analysis. Moore it should be, whenever he's ready to go. (Seems like everyone agrees on Kampfer though.)

He took a hard slide into the boards when he interfered with Marner on the breakaway-that-became-a-penalty-shot.

Hopefully he's just bruised and needs the morning off.

He appeared to be missing off the bench for a while in the early third, but I was in the nosebleeds so not positive on that.

He said he was 100% after the game, but what concerns me is they shuffled the lines around without him. I don’t think he’s playing tomorrow. Typically when they give a maintenance day to a guy who is going to play, they just have the extra F (Backes in this case) go in in that spot instead of disrupting everything. They disrupted.

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Johansson - Krejci - Kuhlman
Heinen - Coyle - Backes
Nordstrom - Acciari - Wagner

Johansson was in DeBrusk’s spot on PP1 too.

Well maybe I’m wrong. Cassidy says Jake is a game time decision but he anticipates DeBrusk will play.

Makes sense that they wont know. That seemed like more of a car accident - hurting all over type thing that could definitely be worse in the morning than a particular injured body part.

And Miller was out for Saturday's game but would be good to go for practice on Monday.

Yeah, that was the other reason I kind of thought he would have been better off just letting the breakaway play out.

Better game by miles.

Need to hope Clifton and Moore can go Monday, because the Leafs will eat Kampfer alive with their depth.

And let’s spin the wheel to see what Kadri gets this year.

Just saw the replay at a bar. That was blatant. You can see Kadri size him up and then just push out the cross check to his skull.

Admirable restraint by Chara. He looked like a bear with these claws just pawing at the bunny.

He should have put Kadri’s face through the back of his head. Kadri dove in the first after looking for a ref to call a penalty when he and DeBrusk were going at it, completely tried to milk a major/game misconduct when writhing on the ice in the second, and was a complete coward with a retaliation hit for the second time in as many series against the Bruins.

Kadri’s a fucking embarrassment and ought to pay the price. I’m convinced that Chara only caught the end/aftermath of the crosscheck out of the corner of his eye.

Tavares dove in the third, too. Granted, he took a high stick right before, but if someone’s gonna flop, might as well get your money’s worth.

I hate this fucking team and its coach’s stupid, I-just-bit-into-a-lemon face.

Johansson is not traveling with the team today. Krug, DeBrusk and Clifton are day to day.

Given his history, I’m concerned this is a brain or lung injury. I hope he legitimately has influenza or norovirus but I’m skeptical. The fact he’s not with the team does make me hopeful for the illness being true. Or else he’s really fucked up

I think they are being honest with illness. Johansson played Thursday and practiced Friday, so nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I don’t think he traveled with them because they didn’t want whatever he has to spread.

I dont recall "illness" as a cover for an upper body injury. (altho Upper body injury would be a cover for decapitation.)

They usually release these things in the late afternoon. They pretty much already know what it is going to be when they go in there for the hearings.

I’ll be surprised if it is anything other than 5 games. That’s a tick up from last year so they can say they are being harder on him for being a repeat offender, puts him off ice for the remainder of the series and doesn’t open them up to an appeal.

Seems like it's getting late. Does Kadri play if nothing gets announced in the next 90 minutes?

Are they waiting to see DeBrusk on the ice before then declaring no harm done?

Letting Kadri on the ice tonight is an open invitation for a Bruin to cave his face in.

NHL network crew questioning why no announcement yet.
They aren't the only ones. I'm baffled that something that seems as clear cut as this isn't out yet. If the NFL is simply going to punt, shouldn't they announce that instead, rather than simply staying silent?

They had him there at 1 pm. Hearing is going to take an hour or so, plus they had the Thornton one. So they had a busy afternoon.

I’d be stunned if the Leafs don’t already know and the video or press release isn’t out before puck drop. There are a lot of reasons to complain about regarding DoPS, but I have never heard of a player playing a game in between disciplinary hearing and a suspension.

I mean...fuck Roger Goodell and all, but I don't think we can blame this on him.

Just when simply typing "n" into a browser window started bringing up "nhl.com" instead of "nfl.com" - the "RG" from FURG" reappears!

"remainder of the first round"

That seems right. Would have preferred 5 so that he'd have to sit the first couple next year...

I would’ve gone with a hard 5 games, don’t love the “remainder of the series” thing. Why let him off the hook if his teammates win without him?

Or let him skate in next year's opener when his teammates get shoved out of the playoffs in 5?

Should have been remainder of playoffs plus first 10 next season, but I’ll take the fact that he will not play again this series.
