I am not sold on the study either, but I did expect a bit of a bump in calls against when playing in Montreal based on the aforementioned eye test.  Clearly that's not the case.  Perhaps the study would have been better served using penalty minutes rather than total calls, and it should factor in the timing of calls (causing 5 on 3's for example, or 4-4's nullifying the other teams PP).  There are lots of subtle ways to make the penalties count "more" to make up the amount of penalties called.

Ok, removing my foil hat.

Yea! on the Saturday matinee.

Went to Game 5 this last Saturday;  travel from Maine was smooth, hanging around the bars starting before noon was more fun than I deserve, even got home before 11PM (following more bar time after the game).  Go booze, Go Bruins.

Seriously. How can you get a lather on (liquor- or hate-induced) barely after noon?

On a side note, gonna be a looooong Thu night for the Bull Gang. Hope those poor fucks get time and a half.

10:30 AM game on Saturday for me.  Not that that matters, my organization puts on the largest brewfest in Montana on that day so I can't watch.

Here
I love early games. Wake up and boom the game is on. There's no dreadful wait during the day.

Hold the phone.  There's talk on HFBoards (I know, I know) that Saturday's Bruins game will MAY be at 7:00 PM if the Wild win tomorrow night (an outcome that would give the Blackhawks a home game on Saturday).

EDIT: see strikethrough and caps

No, by starting your drinking the night before and not stopping.  What are you, an amateur?

Loved this from Fluto in this morning's Globe.
Mike Babcock did not consider Brendan Smith’s Game 2 tangle with Zdeno Chara a reflection of intelligence.

The next day, the Red Wings coach pulled the situation into a location familiar to a hockey player: the bar. In such surroundings, noted Babcock, if you encounter a beautiful girl on the arm of a brawler, you don’t fight the behemoth to win her attention. You play pool.

Michel Therrien would disagree. The Montreal coach’s philosophy would be to splash a drink in the guy’s face, jab him with a pool cue, jam some peanut shells down his pants, and say naughty things about his mother. Amid the resulting mayhem, when the police lead the giant away in leg irons, that’s when you make off with his lady.

Fucking 12:30 game. I have to work later so I can't drink for it. Fuck you NBC.

Well, if you have to work later, wouldn't a later game mean you miss it because of work?

Add me to the "this works out well for me" chorus.  I'll be in Nashville for work Sunday through Friday, but should be able to watch pretty much everything.

I love the schedule, but any news on which networks this'll be on?  I know round 1 has been all NBCSN, but what are the odds any of these make it onto NBC?

I have seen nothing tonight that suggests to me that the Habs are a better team than the Bs and that they are going to win 4 games first. Boston has controlled the vast majority of the 55 minutes played so far and won't miss that many chances nor make that many silly mistakes with the puck.

Montreal/Price need to steal one or 2. I almost feel like tonight is a must-win for the Habs, they won't get many better chances to win than this.

I didn't really see this supposed speed advantage Montreal has tonight; the Bruins had great puck possession all night.  It looked like the old opportunistic Canadiens, though.  The other team dominates play for long stretches but they get one power play or one good shift and bury it.  I saw enough of that in 2010.
