Should be a really good series. CBJ having so much time off should work to the Bruins' advantage on Thursday night. CBJ figures to offer a better matchup for the Bruins considering they are not as fast and skilled as Toronto. Bob can get hot and carry them, but the Bruins are the better team.

3/12 @Columbus L 7-4
3/16 vs. Columbus W 2-1(OT)
4/2 @Columbus W 6-2

The Island
Also, unlike the Leafs regular season matchups, which happened so far back in the season to be useless, these games were all after the trade deadline, so they’re pretty illustrative.

Took me a little while to find an update for after last night's game, but the Bruins are now the Vegas favorite to win the Stanley Cup.

Bruins +400
Sharks +500
Blues +600
Islanders +650
Caps +650
Blue Jackets +700
Stars +700
Avalanche +750
Hurricanes +1500

Yeah,
I think I answered my own question: yes.

Despite the silliness of current NHL system, they will get home ice hereafter since they get it vs. Columbus and in the third round 'seeding' no longer matters, just points.

The NHL has got to change this system....

So what's that make the odds of beating CBJ?

Maybe in Game 1. But I wonder whether the cumulative fatigue catches up with the Bruins.

Really want to know the time of Saturday's game, with a 1pm tee time and all.

From Joe McDonald's rundown of last night's game in The Athletic: "Kuraly is a native of Dublin, Ohio, and grew up a Blue Jackets fan. He understands what the atmosphere will be like in both rinks in the next round."

I can't imagine I'm the only one who still thinks of CBJ being new enough that no one playing now would've grown up a fan of the team.

Being a Saturday, wouldn't the game either be on NBC at 3 pm or 8 pm? I thought about it more and it makes more sense that NBC would want the B's in prime time.
Yes. I'm really hoping for 8pm, not 3pm haha.

.
And they pretty much stunk while he was growing up, only making postseason once until he was off at college.

Doesn't mean they didn't have good atmosphere, but still.

Bruins in 5. Mostly because I'm on a cruise starting next Sunday and I won't be able to see games 6 and 7. Thanks a lot, in laws.

2. Dzingel-Duchene-Atkinson
3. Texier-Foligno-Anderson
4. Nash-Jenner-Dubinsky

1. Werenski-Jones
2. Kukan-Savard
3. Harrington-Clendening

PP Units
Panarin-Duchene-Foligno
Werenski-Atkinson

Texier-Dubois-Anderson
Jones-Bjorkstrand

Injuries: McQuaid, Ryan Murray, and Markus Nutivaara are all out indefinitely.

12 players scored for CBJ in the Tampa series. PP went 5-for-10. Aaron Portzline highlights 19-year-old Alex Texier for a great series vs. TB. I think their forward lines are very good and deep, but their 2nd and 3rd D-pairings are especially vulnerable.

I think that's a good assessment. That is some legit depth up front, and as good as their bottom 4 D played v. Tampa, I agree that's where we get to them. That and Bobbo turning back into a pumpkin.

Moneypuck’s model has the Bruins as a 54% favorite in the series.

I’m sure Dom L will have his preview piece from his model out sometime today.

Why do the Hurricanes have better Cup odds than anyone else?

Because they only have to go through the Isles and then one of the Bruins/Blue Jackets.
Aren't the Isles pretty good? And they're only .5% better to beat the Isles than Bruins over BJs and that translates into Cup faves?

Eh, math.
